How to stop getting ddosed by People.

This Will Cover:
  • Servers

  • Your network

Blocking Them on your network.
First, you need to know the shells/Bots ip addresses. If you have been ddosed by them before, then it will be in your routers logs.[Alternitivly, Get public shells and do it.] Log into your router.
Copy all the ips into notepad, Then you can begin.
Go to your router log in, then go to firewall. Block all of the ips in notepad and you wont have any problems.
Servers
With servers it can be different.
If it is a linux VPS/Dedicated server then, You have to use iptables or an alternative.
Google, How to use iptables for more information.
Very simple but descriptive. Thanks though now i have something to give my stupid friends who do stupid things to the wrong people :D
Thank you. I always wanted to know how to protect my self against this.
You can always block it with Zone Alarm too.
You can not block a DDoS attack with any sort of fire wall. If someone hits you with 10gb/sec on port 82 you are down. Period.
Have fun blocking every IP of every single bot hitting your shit.
Do you know how unrealistic this is?
This would only work if a VPS is hitting you because you'd only have to block a single IP.

lol, took the words right out of my mouth. 😝

It very hard to block IP's if some with hits you with a ok amount of bots say 500 you telling me you will go to your firewall and block 500 ip's from your firewall.
Or blocking shells where most shell booters have 2-3k shells

Its possible. I guess you could make a bot to block them.
But you no, i know this isnt practical, but it will work.

No. it blocks it on your computer, not your router.

You can never really fully block a dos attack unless you disconnect form the internet... Theres always a way.

Thats my point.
The only way to truely evade getting ddosed, is to not use the internet.

I use the internet an never been ddosed.
The best way to evade getting ddosed is don't go on xbl and tell every one you are going to hack there account and ddos them.
That is the best way.

Then again.
People sometimes ddos to win games, but they dont do it over 15 seconds or so.
You just get laggy as fuck. But yeah, dont be an internet gangster and you wont get ddosed.
Great lol that can be token against a fool hacker
but reall hacker will recomend useing a VPN due to DDosing
so 0% that u can catch em away
Team INTRA
So you're suggesting blocking IPs on a end user Router Level?

Which will do nothing because if the flood is above your pipe(Which 90% of the time on home connections it is) It won't matter anyway as your modem will not be able to handle it to even pass the data on to your router.

There is no easy or simple way to block or stop DDoS attacks on a application or homer connection level.
