Hey guys i need firewall with IDS (Intrusion detection system)
Dont want opinions as try comodo,zonealarm etc etc
I DONT NEED SIMPLE FIREWALL

This depends on a number of factors:

- What Operating System is the firewall needed for?
- What is the firewall for exactly? (This matters a lot, software firewalls can only protect you from so much).
- What is your skill level related to firewalls?
- Is this a local or remote machine to yourself?

I know you want a software firewall though the features which you are asking for are mainly only included with Hardware firewalls.
If you have a spare PC lying around the house with 2 Nic's you can setup Endian Firewall or ClearOS.
Both these Hardware firewalls have IDS plus a ton more features. These firewalls are business grade though you can run them in a home environment which i am doing myself.

Just run a Firewall software with Snort configured. Snort is your IDS.
