AA Reviewer #6- Saraiya Goyou(House of Five Leaves)

House of Five Leaves is a 12 episode samurai anime, that aired late spring to mid summer of 2010.

Set in a previous time period, Five Leaves is about a samurai named Akitsu Masanosuke that is having troubles finding/keeping a job as a bodyguard.
He then is approached by a man named Yaichi, who then requests that Akitsu become his bodyguard. After his first night of accompanying
Yaichi to an encounter with a man and his bodyguard and quickly and effectively fending off the attacker, Yaichi
then lets Akitsu in on what he really does for money.

The main character is Akitsu Masanosuke, as previously mentioned, a samurai looking for work. He is a oddly shy,
yet powerful samurai. He is easily insulted, yet has a kind heart. But when it comes time to defend someone,
he adopts a serious attitude.

Yaichi is the leader of the Five Leaves. He is a man who doesn't give all that much information as to what
the Five Leaves gang will be doing for their next mission. Do the mission, get the pay off, next mission.
He's very mysterious and will not tell many about his past.

Other main characters that are part of the gang include, Umezou, a man who lives with his daughter in the tavern they own,
which is also the meeting place for the Five Leaves meetings, Take who is the only female member of Five Leaves,
and Matsu who is the spy of the gang. There really isn't too much insight to these characters, so I really
don't have much else to say about them.

For this anime, the artist paid attention to detail with everything, especially the background and surrounding scenes.
Everything is in great detail, down to the grain of the wood and the stray hairs on a characters head.
Character designs were also very detailed. Animation process still held a smooth feeling to it.

I have not seen any anime that are relatively close to this one,(aside from Samurai Jack maybe, lol) so I'll just let MyAnimeList take care of it for me.
Yet another good and detailed review on an anime series. Good job!

Although, you forgot to review one part which is the story.
Review it in a way so that you don't spoil the series. Just tell us what you think about the story overall.

Also, state if you would recommend us to watch the series or for us to stay away from it.

This is a very well constructed thread, I'll be checking into this.

No offense, but it would be better if you didn't quote the whole OP.

Thanks for the tips Fox! I am always open to ways of making these reviews better. And yes I always try to do these without giving away the story. With my Midori no Hibi review I tried so hard not to say anything about Midori's predicament.
Try "Night Head Genesis" next, just finished it myself.

>Kara no kyoukai
That would be a good idea.

A nice review as always doctor. :3

Even though I finished reading it I am afraid that my dislike towards samurai anime makes me feel a resentment towards the series. I shall await your next review with great hope though.
