[RANT]The Freedom of Speech[RANT]

I find, that adults don't quite understand what that means. I go to a school, where a couple teachers are power hungry and pathetic in all possible ways.

If they say "Don't speak" then I simply remind them of the first amendment.
So, basically. Some of them have this twisted idea that you must be 18 to receive such a right. Well.. on the contrary, power hungry and pathetic teacher, You in fact gain this right from birth. Not only it is a natural right but a legal one as well.

"Freedom of speech is the freedom to speak without censorship and/or limitation"

That is the definition of the first amendments version of freedom of speech. It says nothing about age, and I have read on into the bill of rights and the first amendment and it does not mention a single number, or the word age for that matter.

I'm ranting to be honest with you all, but you must agree that it is kind of sad that teachers attempt to take advantage of a lack of common knowledge. It's not only professionally wrong, but on a moral level as well.

Also, respect. They often try and tell me because they are "Adults" which I lol to every time, that I must respect them.

Age comes no matter what, either way you will gain it; the only way to stop it is to stop time itself. Therefore I can only conclude by what the teacher is saying she is telling me to respect every single mass murderer ever in Human existence.

That might not be what she is trying to say, but in fact it is exactly what she is saying, willingly or not. Respect is earned, not given for nothing but a rotations around the sun.
Well, I guess it's better this way. Other students are fucktards, I suppose that's what you think, so imagine the anarchy.
In America everything seems to be so wierd.
testify mutha fucka, show those cunts your nit to be trifled with...
You'll probably do it when you're older. =[
I don't go to school, am homeschooled. But I agree with you, I would only respect a teacher if he/she earned it by simply not being a complete bitch. Any cool teachers earn my respect 👍

Hehe, I was homeschooled, too. Homeschooled from 5th grade up to college.
You may have thefeedom of speech... But anything you say hasthechance for consequences. Nobody can stop you from sayinmsomething, but anyhing you say is reviewers and judged y moral standards and has the chance to be acted upon.

You CAN go to a public airport and say you're going to blow the place up... But you will face consequences for doing so.

I agree on the age thing, though.

It has nothing to do with age or limiting your freedom of speech.

First of all, "freedom of speech" is limited. It does not give you the right to slander other people, or to provoke violence or hatred against others.

Second, other people have the right to tell you that they do not wish to hear what you have to say. If another person tells you they do not wish to hear what you have to say and you ignore their request and persist regardless, well, that's called harrassment.

Third, freedom of speech does not entitle you to the right to say whatever you want, whenever you want, and whereever you feel like doing so. If a person is giving a speech and you interrupt, that's flat-out rude and dispectful and infringes on their rights, as well as the rights of others who are trying to listen to their speech. If you persist regardless, they have every legal right to have you removed.

A teacher's job is to instruct his/her students, not to have their students instruct them. A teacher has every right to require his/her students to remain silent during the lessons they are trying to teach. You are not the only student and allowing you to continue is disruptive, infringes on the teacher's ability to maintain order, and perform his or her job.

MY professors however let me interrupt them all I wanted! They LIKED what I had to say, and wanted to hear it! I could argue just about anything with them, and they never once told me to shut up. I did my research and added meaningful content to their lessons. Technique and timing is everything!
I think i know what you're trying to tell us...

Schools are given way too much power in America. Sure, I can understand curtailing free speech to a degree to keep order. But schools often take it too far. Why can't I wear a shirt with a cannabis leaf? Maybe I'm protesting the illegal war on drugs. Maybe I'm supporting hemp, a very valuable crop that is not a drug. Or maybe, just maybe, I'm supporting the plant that created the parchment on which the Declaration of Independence was written on.

And if they try to fuck with my private life.... well let's just say I'll fuck with theirs.
I felt the same way you did all through my school years, so i dropped out at age 16, moved away from friends and now i spend most if not all of my time in IRC or lurking message boards, and playing retro video games and watching TV. I dont know if thats what you want or not. It's good to me.

honestly im glad i no longer have to deal with public school bullshit. it was driving me nuts and making me a worse student. HS teachers might demand to be treated with respect, but they cannot demand actual respect.
