Ibitsu

Synopsis
I have to give it to Ryou Haruka, he did a marvelous job with this one.
Despite being short, this deserves far more attention.
You think Higurashi & Elfen Lied are scary? Think again.
This manga defines the deepest depths of the term 'yanderu', aka.
mental illness. Take a good look at yuno, Rena, Shiro, Shion,,
Lucy perhaps, all those psychotic yandere/yangire chicks.
On those terms, the Lolita Girl beats them all by a big shot.
I read this shit around 04:00 AM, it almost left me devastated.
If anything, this manga has no comprehension for what
they call happy endings (not a spoiler, it's obvious).
Story
I had no idea what to expect here, perhaps another Doubt styled
plot? or a Higurashi feeling?
I wound up pleasantly surprised with being faced by some of the
most cruel and gruesome insanity I could imagine.
"Do you have a younger sister?"
What would you answer if some random girl in a lolita dress with bruised
skin and stitches all over would ask you that at a trash dump?
"I do"?
"I don't"?
Well you remain oblivious to the fact she's actually asking "do you
need a younger sister?", and it doesn't really matter what you reply.
You'll end up in Hell regardless.
I read somewhere that Ibitsu is actually based on a Japanese
urban legend called 'Aka Manto', or 'Red Paper, Blue Paper'.
A legend where when you're in the toilet, you're asked, "Would you
like red paper or blue paper?". If you say Blue, you'll be
strangled/suffocated, something along these lines. If you say
Red, you'll be ripped apart.
However, if you answer a variant, Yellow for instance, you won't die.
In Ibitsu, since whatever you say leads to death, there is no
answer to the Lolita's question. The answer may only be to ignore her.

Characters
And I thought I had seen pure insanity. I was dead wrong. 🤦♂
The development of the Lolita Girl is spectacular. 13 chapters, only a handful
of pages, but they still manage to explain and justify her absurd behavior.
Not to mention her teddy bear, Keiichi, who apparently hates being dirty ;)
All the side characters, family members, friends, the writer makes
sure you feel sorry for anyone who encounters her.
Art
The art is beautiful and fits the manga completely.
In concordance with the storyline, it creates the perfect atmosphere for
the abhorrence of the manga. From the gore, to the blood, to the fucking
eye she's chewing on, they're all drawn with explicit detail and diligence,
and fit perfectly with the atmosphere.

Enjoyment & Finale
So, I'm still trying to keep this in the shorter side so let's just finish it up here.
As I said before, I read this in one go at the middle of the night,,
hence, enjoyment = MAXIMUM. I'd always recommend people to
watch/read horror shit when it's dark, to fit the atmosphere.
Reading this at daytime wouldn't give it the epic feel it's
supposed to emit. For example, I first played Dead Space
during daytime, it wasn't nearly as good.
Anyway, I loved it, and if you're passionate towards
the horror genre, this will appeal to you 120%.
Thank you for reading.
