This week's poll: What do you look for in an anime?

Basically, in this poll you are choosing which point most drives you to choose an anime to watch. What is the most important factor when looking for a new anime, out of the ones available.

Genre for me, since I don't care about rating/length and I don't know what the character/animation style is until I actually start to watch the show.

Pretty much Genre for me. Although animation is a big deal for me too. I hate watching that old, old, old timey animation. (excluding Trigun cause its gold...)

Now come on lets get real, I don't know a single person who goes into an anime without looking or recognizing a genre. Whether you single out one genre is another story. It is pretty much a must to vote for genre on the poll, I don't know a single person who has randomly picked an anime with a hundred + episodes and based it on nothing else. Ignoring the option for genre I picked looks.

I can see this playing a role, but I always give a series a few episodes to prove themselves.

Character style -
This is a big one, but I have watched good series with terrible character designs.

Animation style -
The biggest and most important.

Length -
Shouldn't matter

Honestly don't care

I like a good romance like Amagamii ss, and or like creepy bloody kind of thing like another or higurashi. Idk anything with a clever plot that I can appreciate as a writer. 👍

Another Poll I can't vote in. I usually go watch a series if I like the sound of the synopsis.

I could care less what someone else's rating is.
Animation isn't that big of an issue, to be honest. Same with Character style.
Length isn't an issue.
Genre doesn't come into play that much either; I pretty much like all genre's.

This truely is a difficult question since my tatse in anime varies. It's basically as Okarin stated above me and honestly I'll watch it just to give it a shot.

Why no storyline or setting? I usually look into that first..

Anyway;
Rating - I don't give a shit about ratings, and even less about MAL's crappy ranking system..

Character Looks - Not that big of a factor, I can usually put up with whatever's handed to me (not so much for shitty personalities or character development though)

Animation Style - Guess I'd normally be far more attracted to fancy, high quality animation/art style, but still I say the same as above. I could put up with it if the story is decent, in most cases.

Length - Nope.

Genre - This is completely subjective to my mood, at times I'd be desperately searching for deep, seinen drama twists, while others I'd be looking for shounen ecchi crap.

Well, out of those factors, I'd say genres have the most effect.

I do look at rating, I prefer the length to be about 50 episodes. Genre I wouldn't give a shit if it's a good anime.

But, the things the anime must have or I no watchy is -
GOOD ANIMATION STYLE/GRAPHIX
GOOD CHARACTER LOOKS
GOOD STORY/No non-sense moments.
Very good character personalities.
