No, It won't. You can solve it with a page refresh.
Is it noob friendly?
Totally, altough with some experience in HTML you can do really funny stuffs with it.
Does it need any knowledge?

That's the point, it's not a method, it's just common sense.
I'm pretty sure everyone has an inspect element in their browsers
and know how to use it..

And I think not. This is the world where we always can learn something new. And this is a forum where there are beginners and advanced users. I'm not sure about you, but I guess there're people on HF whose don't know about it.
Did you knew about it? Fine, I respect your knowledge, but please don't post if you can't add something helpful. Please.
Also You've got opinion, I've got opinion, we're different. I found it good, you found it useless. I accept it, but now please go and do something else to make this forum better. Good luck!
The title should be edit a web with firebug
This can actually be used for hacking. I have used it a LOT. For example:
If you have a code for a specific button to refresh page, but the admin has made the button DISABLED, you use FireBug to make it enabled, and you press it and it works. This has helped me in a game.

changing the offline content of a site is useless. unless you use it to obtain more characters which allows you to input more characters good for xss and more methods.
firebug is indeed a good thing to use. good tut only litle small. i got tutorial on firebug allready you can also use firebug on google chrome.
this also allows us to enable surveys or buttons.
