If you want to be secure online on your computer, why wouldn't you want to on your phone? This tutorial teaches you how to set up Σɴɪɢᴍᴀ VPN to secure your phones data. I am not paid to promote Σɴɪɢᴍᴀ VPN in any way, I just promote great products that work for me. Here is how you will get Σɴɪɢᴍᴀ VPN running on your android device in minutes.

OpenVPN only works on rooted devices and Android 2.1+

1. Install busybox from the android market.
   
   While installing BusyBox should say “Your phone is rooted”
   you need to install BusyBox to /system/xbin/
    
   
   


2. Now install OpenVPN Installer and OpenVPN Settings from Android Market, run OpenVPN Installer application.
   
   
    
   
   


3. Create a folder called openvpn on the sdcard.
   Resulting Android path will be /sdcard/openvpn/
   Put the config files downloaded with Σɴɪɢᴍᴀ VPN in this folder.
   (NOTE! Android is case-sensitive. Do NOT use CAPS or lower case)
    
   
   


4. Start OpenVPN Settings and enable OpenVPN
   

Look at your IP address and you will see it has changed and your data is now secure.

Thats it, you are now secure!

Very good explained. But I use a Nokia n900 with Maemo, so I cant use this ;)

This covers a vpn which is the easiest to set up besides maybe a proxy, for every phone there are differences so making a tutorial on encryption would be pointless unless there was a universal way. Thank you for your input, its appreciated.
