Salmons guide to staying safe online with your browser!

First: Install Mozilla firefox (I recommend it because it has a virus detection built in, it will scan all files before download them, it takes around 3 seconds for them to scan it) at
https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/products/d...lang=en-US

HTTPS everywhere
A MUST HAVE FOR ALL COMPUTERS!!! Any browser!
https://www.eff.org/files/https-everywhere-latest.xpi
it is HTTPS everywhere. It encrypts your web wherever possible, making it A LOT harder for people to view what you are doing. It will make it so if someone is trying to intercept your traffic they will get,
fasdfd2f4d5f41d3sf54ad5s3f4
instead of,
John Doe 1337 lane
It adds a small friendly icon at the top of your browser bar

Keyscrambler
not super necessary just nice
It is keyscrambaler.
It prevents keyloggers (password stealers) from tracking your every move!
http://download.cnet.com/KeyScrambler-Pe...7250c97834
It gives the keylogger
1df54daf45d4f3adsf45sd
instead of,
Hackforums mega botnet
To get the annoying box to go away just have it off, or turn it to one second, need any help PM me here.

Ghostery
I would highly recommend this.
It stops and blocks third party trackers, adds, and cookies from getting data from you. They are practically bruteforcing the data out of your browser.
Ghostery
For any browser: http://www.ghostery.com/download
For Mozilla: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downl...tn-primary
When you install it, go through the instruction guide, then a little icon will show up

Adblock
This is great for an avid YouTube user or shopper. Tired of all those annoying ads or having to view adds before a video? Well this takes them all off.
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downl...en-firefox
no questions asked, every single add off!
Nothing to set up. Just right out of the box.

You can turn it off on some pages by clicking the icon on the bottom left of your browser and clicking disable. This will help with security, so you don't get any pop ups on fake sites, telling you to download this adware!

Web of trust
Are you one that wants to know if you are on a safe site? Can never decide? Try looking up the websites and looking at reviews online. Well if so then this is the add-on for you. It is called WOT, Web of Trust. It gives you reviews from thousands of people around the world rating the site. It will tell you if the site has any bad/fraud issues. Become one of them and start rating the web and help the WOT community. The add-on is simple and efficient. As you see in the picture below it is a little button next to your search bar. You can rate it by clink any of those colors. I blacked out my tabs and site I was on for showing purposes. If you want this great WOT add-on download it here
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downl...en-firefox

Optional- Download status bar
Tired of the pop up you get every time you download something on Mozilla Firefox? If so get status bar. It downloads everything in the status bar in the left hand corner of your browser instead of the box

The picture above shows it. Get it here
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downl...al-denblog

If you would like the theme I have on my firefox (makes it black) get it here
For windows and linux users: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downl...b-dl-users
For mac users: Sorry dont have one right now, 14.01 took it out, should be out soon though :D

Thanks for this tut, this will be very useful for some users.

I will add most of this stuff as well.
Nice recommendations. I would however bold and increase the font size of the names of the addons for the ease of reading.
