Hello everyone first off I like to say my post count is not that great and I never really posted in this section before.I believe in searching and googling before asking my questions,this helps me not to be a big embarrassment to myself and frankly I learn more.But putting that aside I'm glad to be apart of the site.
Ok here is what I was doing over the weekend.I just install irc,unrealircd and have my no-ip account.Well after I installed everything and tested my bot I got to thinking what does unrealircd really do? In my head I'm thinking (since I edited a conf file) That this is to let irc connect to your server and what not.But I have looked around and I saw people using a vps and adding unrealircd to it.But what is the purpose to that?What kinda of benefits do they get by having a vps with this? I'm thinking that maybe they have to do this because ppl steal bots and the have to hide them self's in any case please elaborate on that subject.The other thing is I saw this https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?ti...irc+server
Since this is a dedicated server is this the same thing has someone getting vps?And with the link I showed you I also want to know would I need to put unrealircd to this?
