If somebody makes a thread and asks for help but then offers to pay for a service, is that breaking the "not in marketplace" rule? Just always wondered as it seems like it should, but maybe that's me being harsh?

I think yes, It's a violation of site rules, all selling/trading/buying should belong in marketpplace.
