Look on the channel for the iPhone 4 video. I know this is old but I want to read your thoughts. I think it's real but obviously I can't be a 100% sure.

Looks real, and would fool me if I didn't know any better. There ARE more developers other then just the dream team who can decompile and reverse engineer devices. He also made this just for big devs to look at and probably offer him money for the exploit. (dev team wont but he wants it)

If I where the guy that developed it, I would for sure try to get known a little bit more. I would make an Twitter account and start sending out more proof. My point is that I hope he will release it and not keep it private.

Jailbreaking the iPhone 5 is not difficult, anybody with a valid developer lisence can just sign cydia and execute it. The iPhone checks file permissions but not if it is called with another program that honors suid (look at how iFile launches). The only problem is that none of the apps you download will execute until you sign them (not hard but defeats the point of C)

pod2g said so himself that he has signed cydia (and I too have done it, though it is once again, useless without a patch). I would like to see some of your code, if you are willing, we can share some stuff. Shoot me an email and we can chat (in the sig) or a PM.

I'm not spiting him, if he did it then he did it, I am just saying it might be benificial to the community to share resources with me and some of the other devs. Completely his call.
