Can Someone tell me about what DoD and Guttman file deletion processes are? What does swiping the free space of drive means? and is there any way to recover a file if the file is deleted by using any of the above processes???

First of all, you've posted this thread in the WRONG section "bhai" ;) Secondly, Dod and Guttman are "secure file deletion" techniques hain. So that the files deleted by these processes can't be recovered or if recovered then they are nothing but just crap. "Jai Hind" :D

DoD and Guttman are levels of deletion based un the number of passes done. I'm fairly sure DoD is 7 passes, and Guttman is 35. Wiping the free space on your drive can actually free up some room, seeing as that some deleted files are not completely deleted, and still regester on part of the space.
