Hello Everyone! I thought that I would throw something together just to help some of you guys understand what Malware is. So, hope you guys enjoy it!
What is Malware?
Malware is software that is intended to attack or damage a Computer OS. There are many kinds of Malware, such as Computer Viruses, Trojan Horses, Worms, or Spyware. Even then there are other kinds of Malware which are not as well known, such as Wabbits. In this post I will be explaining to you what each kind of Malware does, and what the hacker/creator achieves from infecting your computer.
Computer Viruses
Computer Viruses are among the most common of Malware. They are quite easy to get. So easy in fact, that you can be infected just by opening an attachment emailed to you. Viruses have many different purposes. They can be to damage your hard drive, or to simply get slaves computers. See, once you are infected, a virus will usually spread throughout the computer, deep into startup folders and programs. It copies its self to many different places, then tries to spread to other computers, by infected drivers, or even USB sticks.
Trojan Horse
A Trojan Horse is a very sneaky, genius virus. You know all those boring hours in history class being told the story of the Trojan Horse? Well, that's where this malware gets its name. The Trojan Horse goes onto a computer, looking like something helpful and harmless. But, it's not. It can give a hacker/attacker remote access to your computer, as if someone was sitting at your keyboard messing around. But, the Trojan Horse hides itself in many ways, so that it will not be detected by AntiVirus/Malware programs.
SpyWare
Spyware is a Malware that is usually associated with AdWare/FreeWare. Spyware is a hidden component that comes within software (Another good reason to only get software from trusted Companies). Spyware monitors what the user is doing, stealing data such as passwords, credit card info, and more.
Worms
Worms are a complicated Malware, and are quite dangerous. Like the computer virus, they can replicate and spread. Unlike the computer virus, they do NOT need a hosting software. Therefor, if someone in your homegroup gets a worm, it's quite easy for you to get one too. They often spread through email, or just vulnerably in networks.
Wabbit
A Wabbit is a quite frankly rare Malware to encounter. But, it's still out there. Compared to other malware, it's far less harmful, but it does do some damage. Once executed, the Wabbit starts to make random files. These files the duplicate, and duplicate again. So, they fill up your hard drive with crap, until removed, crash, or if the hard drive simply doesn't have any more room.

I hoped I helped you guys! Please leave any suggestions in the comments (such as malware I left out, since I only covered the most deadly/likely to encounter, excluding the wabbit.), so I can imporove my post. Thanks so much, and bye for now!
