Review:

Plot:

In Motto To LOVE-Ru, the plot was pretty interesting. It wasn't interesting because it was super deep, or heavily reliant on plot, but the execution of the plot was interesting.

In most series, there will be one main storyline, and each episode will go through part of that to reach the final conclusion of the series.

In this series, each episode was broken up into 3-4 "scenes". Each scene is more or less a situation where something perverted may happen. It seems like they just brainstormed through all of their fantasies as highschoolers, and put them into the show at a few minutes per segment.

The more likely reason for this is taking a chapter from the manga and making that a single scene, but I haven't read the manga, so I can't say for certain.

Other than the way it was displayed, the plot was nonexistent besides the romance aspect. The show was focused on characters building relationships with each other, and trying to get the one boy in the series to fall for a girl.

Characters:

The characters in this were actually really cool. Usually in an ecchi or harem, the boy is a pervert, and pisses off the viewer. However, the main character in this series was actually a nice and genuine person, which made him much more likeable, and it made me root for him.

The main girls in this series are cute, bubbly, and fun to be around, however, they didn't all get enough development.

In this 12 episode series, 8+ girls were trying to get with the main character, and the producers tried to show scenes of development with each of the girls and the main character together.

Because of how few episodes there are, how short the scenes are, and how many girls there are, very few girls got the character development they needed.

Having close to 10 girls after one guy is also a big problem, because not everyone roots for the same girl. At the end of the day, everyone's going to want to see the main character get together with someone, which means a lot of other girls would have to be left behind.

Thoughts:

Overall, I think this was one of the best Ecchi/Harem that I've ever seen.

One thing that I absolutely loved, was the fantastic quality of both the animation and audio.

You could tell that this series was not low budget, just by watching a single episode.

The main character was the best out of any male in a harem I've seen, which is an incredible thing. I don't see why other series feel the need to make the male seem like such a bad person, when they would use similar techniques as To LOVE-Ru.

I can't say much about pacing, because there was no plot besides romance in this. Romance kind of does it's own thing, there's no pacing.

I don't think I need to say any more about it. If you're looking for a good echhi or harem, then watch this (Of course, after you've seen the original "To LOVE-Ru").

My Rating: ★★★★★★★★★★ 8/10

MAL Rating: ★★★★★★★★★★ 7.83/10

*Note: My rating is based on what I thought of it as an Ecchi/Harem, not as an overall series. Ecchi generally can't compete with regular series in most aspects, and since it was never meant to, why would I rate it the same?
Nice review man. I've seen a lot of reviews from you lately ^^,
Thanks ^.^

I decided it would be cool to just do a review of every series I watch, as I watch it. It's pretty fun haha :)
This isn't To Love-Ru Darkness is it?

No. There are 3 seasons of it.

To Love-Ru, then Motto, then darkness. (Plus the 2 darkness OVAs)

I actually didn't know that when I started it though, and thought that "Motto" was the name of the sub group LOL. So, I haven't seen the first one yet, but I'll go back to it and do a review 😝
Definitely on my to watch list now :D
I saw the first season. Didn't really enjoy it that much. Was more annoying than funny.

Yeah, I read the summary of the first season, and it didn't seem close to the quality of Motto.

You might wanna try out the second season ^.^
Watched all of them, I just love the animator in these series, the way he does it is just amazing.
Never thought that to love-ru darkness would get an anime adaptation, but it did :D.
You should read both the manga and watch the anime.
And also I think that the uncensored blue rays are out, for To love-ru darkness.

I cannot wait for my torrent to finish this is gonna be awesome.

Also great review.
Thanks ^.^

I'm watching Darkness atm, and will do a review of that soon, but I was only able to find the censored version it seems :/

It honestly does take a lot out of it since sometimes half of the screen is covered
