This is a guide on how the everyday person can easily and stay Anonymous. As with everything, there is a lot of methods that can be used, and while I have not included every single way to be anonymous, I have included some good ways for you to cover your tracks against people who would wish you harm.

First let me first go over some basics.

• When on a forum, always use a different name on each one. By doing this, people cannot track your actictivity on other forums.
  


• Don't use real information
  


• Don't allow cookies.
  


• Limit Java script.
  


• Do not use addons to your browser, or have a browser specifically used while browsing anonymously I.E. Tor Browser.
  


• Clear your cache often.
  


• Use a proxy on skype so no one can resolve your ip address.
  


• Create disinformation to keep people off of your trail, following false leads with fake information.
  


• Create a new identity for people who wish harm upon you to find. Will make your real identity harder to find. Click here for a new identity
  

Whenever you are connected to the internet, you are being tracked, monitored and logged. You need to clear your cache, remove flash cookies and other crapware to be safe. In the download portion of this tutorial there is a program called Ccleaner, aka Crap Cleaner. It can clear your cache, dns settings and flash cookies, which are the worst kind of cookies. Flash cookies are harder than regular cookies to get rid of, and they track you just like all cookies. Make sure to delete these.

Download ccleaner and create a batch file to easily clean your browser of cookies and dns cookies when you are done browsing.

Virtual Private Networks (VPNs)

Want to ensure you cannot be Ddossed, but need to use skype to talk to someone you may not trust? Want to make sure you cannot be tracked by someone's forum, website etc? Use a VPN.

A VPN will route all of your traffic through a server, and it is encrypted. This is a great way to ensure you are safe online. Of course having a VPN that does not keep logs helps.

This will even hide your traffic from your ISP, so if you are getting warnings from torrenting, provided your vpn allows torrents, you will no longer receive complaints from them. A VPN can be tracked as easily as your own IP address however if the VPN owner keeps logs of your traffic. I suggest finding a VPN that does not keep logs. Do not trust free VPNs to not keep logs.

Proxies

Proxies are also method of hiding your IP address, much like a vpn they reroute your IP address through a server. The difference is there are more options, and more issues as well. You can use proxies in your web browser, torrent client and there are firewalls that run through proxies proxies. You can force them to be used for only one program at a time, such as skype as well if you so desired. Proxifier is a means to force a program through a proxy. It's not free so I will not add it to the downloads section, but you can look it up.

Tor Browser

In the download section of this tutorial is Tor, which is a way to stay anonymous by using various proxies configured in their browser called Tor browser. You can use the browser, or just Tor if you prefer and know how to set it up.

You can route your traffic through Tor when it is activated with almost anything that uses SOCKS by using the proxy settings below:

IP: 127.0.0.1
Port: 9050

If you have a firewall you may not be able to connect properly. Allow local applications to use port 9050. If your firewall blocks outgoing connections allow it to use port 80 and 443.

Secure your computer

To make sure you are anonymous you need make sure your computer is secure. Run a virus scan, check for malware and make sure you are not infected. If you are, you are already compromised. If you think you are compromised follow the instructions in the whitehat help section of this forum.

Encrypt your information locally To keep yourself secure you should also encrypt your hard drives, that way the data is secure from anyone who doesn't know the password to them. Try true crypt in the download section of this tutorial, it's comprehensive and free. Bitlocker also comes with most installations of windows, which I am sure you all have and works as well. Make sure to use a password that is not easy to guess, for a human or a computer.

Use a Key Scrambler

A key scrambler scrambles your keystrokes so that keyloggers cannot log your passwords and information. For instance, you type something, lets say you type "hf is awesome" the key scrambler would type something like "sdlskd 54sd5s4fds5dfs20" That way no one would be able to use a keylogger on you. You can find a link to a freeware key scrambler in the download section of this tutorial.

So nobody bad can get your information, like your IP, where they can DDOS you. Also, so nobody figures out your real info.

People who use the internet for things that are not necessarily legal or something they want the whole world knowing would like protection and a way to stay anonymous. Also, personal information can be used against another in some instances.

OT: This is a fairly decent guide. Thanks for these tips, especially the flash cookie tip. This is something I'd never heard of, and will now use to my advantage.
