This week's poll is about action series. What is your take on action anime taking place inside virtual worlds? Does it enhance the plot or take away from it? Anime like SAO and Accel World have become fairly prominent on the anime war front, what are your thoughts?

The question: What are your views about virtual reality action anime? Your choices:

• I simply love the genre archetype! I prefer my action anime to take place within virtual reality!

• I enjoy virtual reality anime just as much as any other anime.

• I have enjoyed the series which have included a VR component, but I don't particularly prefer it.

• I have nothing against VR anime, but I prefer my action to happen IRL(anime IRL...)

• I don't like VR anime.

There you have it guys, your 31st AA weekly poll!

Poll specs: Feel free to leave a comment saying why you picked the choice you did. Feel free to debate/flame/rate and hate. Poll is public and single choice only. Poll will close in 5 days.

[Cystomatic]

I will choose this one; I have nothing against VR anime, but I prefer my action to happen IRL(anime IRL...)
Nice poll again btw :D

[Rakshasa]

I'm sure I'd enjoy VR anime just the same as any other if done correctly. The genre archetype really doesn't deserve any special treatment, as it tends to get among the general fanbase.

You should add an 'indifference' option to the poll. I don't dislike it specifically, but I've never in my life come across an anime, or any medium at that, that actually does it correctly.

[Chubaca]

I went with option number 2 I think that was the best choice in my opinion.

[Alexchaos]

I enjoy virtual reality anime just as much as any other anime.
As long as the anime is good, I'll enjoy it. :)

[Ƨhadow]

Last option because every VR anime I've seen has been done so poorly.

[Inori]

The 2nd choice is my pick. The setting of an anime can make it, but there aren't many settings that I dont like.

[Jay‌]

I have enjoyed the series which have included a VR component, but I don't particularly prefer it.

I think I enjoyed SAO, but I do not believe the VR aspect was the main reason to this.

[LWSS]

I made a thread like this but it got trashed wtf.

[KinGxKeV]

I don't prefer it but I do like the genre. :D

[Incest]

I have to agree with Rakshasa and Shadow. I wouldn't mind it if a series was good.

I voted for the third option despite not enjoying any VR series.

[Chubaca]

Option number two is winning so far.

Lets this thread up a little so more people can vote.

[chiyuki]

I enjoy virtual reality anime just as much as any other anime.

I just finished watching SAO, and completely loved it. Though, I enjoyed it, I believe I enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed other anime. When I finished it, I had the same feels and what not I had when I got done watching Code Geass. Only thing I wish for is a VR MMORPG to be made, I expect it by the year 2022 too.

[juniiflow]

but how do you know about the doujin? lmaoo...

[Strongarm]

I simply love the genre archetype! I prefer my action anime to take place within virtual reality!
