Getting PAID to live in Yellowstone National Park for a Month!

Well I was just informed that I have been accepted to be a member of the YCC program @ Yellowstone National Park this summer!

It runs from June 6th til around July 9th, during which we will be maintaining and helping to preserve the national park. I'm super stoked as they pay you $8/hour for a 40 hour work week, and room and board is covered.

I went to Yellowstone last summer for a family vacation and saw some of the most amazing sights you could imagine. Posting some pictures below.

All in all, I'm super excited for this experience and chance to live in the park for a month. Not to mention being paid generously.

Try 7.25 in the good ol' state of Tennessee. Fuck minimum wage here.

I'm not exactly sure what minimum wage is in Montana, but I think its $8/hr.

I could be mistaken though.

Yeah, I have a job where I live and I make $7.25/hr but work like 40 hours a week so I'm not making much more than I do at home.

May I ask where you applied for this? Interested.
I get paid for chilling at home and delivering in my car ;)
I live right next to Yellowstone
You better let me burn you down.
Quote:Teen enrollees will be selected from across the country to participate in this summer program. Enrollees will work 40 hours a week and receive the federal minimum wage ($7.25/hour) with bi-weekly deductions for room, board, and laundry facilities (~$10). Healthy food options will be provided by the YCC Cook or prepared by staff and youth while camping. While this diet might be different than what you are used to, the goal is to provide highly nutritious, healthy meals to sustain youth during a work program.

Sounds like a lot of work, congrats though. Personally, I would be pretty bored.
Cool job but shitty pay, have fun :)
You sir are very lucky, Yellowstone is awesome
