[Tutorial] How to use your VPS/Shell Account as a Socks to change your IP [Tutorial]

This guide will help you to change your IP using your VPS/Shell Account/VPS Spot.

You should have:

1. Putty.

2. VPS/Shell Account/VPS Spot.

*If you don't have Putty you can download it from here.

Step-by-step instructions:

1. Double-click Putty.exe to open.

2. Click "Session" from the left side of Putty. Here you will enter the details of the forwarding server you are connecting to (VPS/Shell Account/VPS Spot).

3. Enter the address of the VPS/Shell Account/VPS Spot that is running SSH in the "Host Name" field and the port number in the "Port" field.

5. Enter the port number you wish to use as the local port into the "Source Port" field for example 1834. This is the port that you will connect to using the program you wish to tunnel with, and cannot be in use by any other application.

6. Select "Dynamic" and "IPv4" then click "Add".

7. Click "Open" to begin your SSH session. You will be prompted for your username and password.

After we start the Tunnel , we can now connect using it through Firefox/Chrome/Opera/Safari/Internet Explorer OR Proxifier.

Proxifier: A program that allows network applications that do not support working through proxy servers to operate through a SOCKS or HTTPS proxy or a chain of proxy servers. With Proxifier you can easily tunnel all TCP connections on the system or the selected ones only. It allows you to force all network connections including system connections to work through a proxy server (*Tunnel*).

Below I will explain How To part step-by-step:

Firefox:
1. Open "Firefox". From the menu bar choose "Tools" and then "Options". This will open the Firefox Options window

2. Click on "Advanced".

3. Click on "Network" tab and then click "Settings" button under Connection.

4. In "Connection Settings" window, click "Manual proxy configuration". Now fill "SOCKS Host" with 127.0.0.1 and the Port you chose. In our example we used Port "1834", then click "OK" twice.

Nope, you can't. You have to use working proxy/socks in order to have this work.
