I know that there are some different ways to ping a server using c++, but I really like to use Dev-C++ and I would very much like to use a ping function using this IDE. Every one that I've tried using has been for Borland or Microsoft Visual, and while I have MS Visual-C++, I really want to use Dev-C++, how would I do this?

Healthy advice that I want to give you IS; use Code::Blocks OR Visual Studio Express 2012. These two are FAR more efficient than ANY IDE (in my opinion). I use BOTH. While Code::Blocks is my first preference but Visual Studio is sexy. 😁
