RAT - Remote Administration Tool.
A client (of your choice, some are free some are paid) that's allows you to gain more control over a computer than the user. I like DarkComet RAT client as it is free, easy to use and setup. You may start out using keylogging programs, and eventually will proceed to RAT's. So, the features of DarkComet RAT, there is too many so I'll name my favorite;
The fun functions tab.
- The ability to play piano like noises and alter them in pitch.
- Send them a message box customizing the text to your liking.
- You can hide the desktop, clock, task icons, system tray icons, taskbar, disable the task manager and open and close the CD drive.
Next we have the files manager tab.
- Self explanatory but you modify files on the slaves computer.
Moving onto the password/data tab.
- This allows you to grab all the slaves passwords that are associated with every browser on their computer. You can then export the password.txt file to access it at any time.
Next up we have my favorite tab, the spy functions tab.
- Hack the slaves webcam.
- Capture the sound on their microphone and even use your own microphone to talk to them.
- Remotely control the computer, with your mouse and keyboard. This is great but a bit slow.
- Log every key the slave strokes.
The computer power tab.
- The ability to shutdown, power off, logoff or restart the chosen computer.
And lastly, this isn't a tab but the broadcast command feature.
- Open a webpage the number of times you want.
- DoS the slaves IP with http, syn and UDP.
So that's all folks, I hope you enjoyed my little description on what a RAT does and how the DarkComet client works. There are plenty more features to this program but I just listed the ones I thought are what makes the program what it is.
Here is the tutorial that I followed in order to setup my DarkComet client. [TuT]How To Setup DarkComet RAT 5.3.1 ||Portforwarding & With Pictures[TuT]. It is very simple and easy with pictures guiding you through the process. I give credit to Plutonium as he taught me about it all. I will add some pictures tomorrow on this thread to get a better understanding of the client.
Thankyou very much for reading this, have a good one,
Josh.
