Earlier today I started getting a bunch of notifications on my twitter. I thought it was odd because I had not logged in for some time.

I then looked at my profile and I found that the username had been changed from @8ws to @Southern, and a whole lot of posts had been made.

I proceeded to change everything back to its previous state and went to a doctors appointment.

I arrived back home, only to find my bio and been changed and the username had been changed to @fuckyewpops

So I saw that there was a message on the account asking who 'I' (whoever had been on my account) was. I replied Pops HF, because I didn't realise what was going on.

Soon afterwards, I got a PM from uid=1707990. His username at the time was 'Hacker' but is now 'Southern'.
Now I know sharing of PM's isn't allowed, so I will just discuss the content, and not state the actual messages (I will paraphrase the PM's into a convo).

Basically what happened:

Mac: Who are you
Pops: I am Pops, are you Mac
Mac: Yes, what are doing on my twitter
Pops: What are you talking about, I own the account not you. It is against HF rules to hack other users accs. I shall report you.
Mac: Its not your acc, I bought it.
Pops: Who did you buy it from?
Mac: A guy in FK called Spiderman. Get rid of it.
Pops: Of what?
Mac: Stop using the acc
Pops: No! I own the account.
Mac: He sold it to me. How can you login to it?
Pops: Are you ddosing me
Mac: No

1: Its not his, its mine,
2: You bought my account off of someone other than me?
3: In the images below, it is clearly shown that the user is called Horrify, not Spiderman.

On the acc itself, there were further messages from that user but they have been deleted. Most likely because I told Horrify that I would report Mac.

PROOF THAT IT IS NOT HIS ACCOUNT:

1) I bought the account off the original owner last year. I have forgotten his username though.
2) It is clearly shown that I own the account as I listed it under an unofficial twitter database in February

Turns out that user tried to sell my account as well.

I will be doing further investigation on the FK user as well...

I have friends on facebook who can vouch for me owning the account, as when I got it originally I bragged about it.

I have sent a support ticket to twitter about it.

Just don't let him log back in. As simple as that. If the account is yours, changing all security options should not be a problem.

He has changed my password and access details. The only way I am even still able to access the account now is because my iPad is linked to the account somehow. Im adding images to the thread now.

You can do a few things. Link a valid phone number to the account https://twitter.com/settings/devices . You can reset password with just phone number, so use this to get the password back. Also, take the email from https://twitter.com/settings/account and save it. That's his email and you might need it in future for various purposes.

Currently using my iPad so I can't do that. Pretty sure I never accessed the account on my PC. But I will be sure have them check my PC first thing tomorrow morning.
