I installed google analytics on my website and tested it on myself. It was saying i was from north york canada but my real location is at 600Km of north york. This tool doesn't really look accurate ? Anyone have an opinion about that

maybe the server, with whom you are connected to the internet, is located in north york(or vpn ) ?!? google analytics is a really helpful tool, depending on what you are doing, but for analysing your traffic its great and really detailed

Well it cant always really pinpoint your exact location but it`s pretty close, and its not an exact GPS system lol it`s just an informational toll and a very useful one to if you know your way around it.

Even though Google Analytics isn't the most accurate with the exact location, it makes up for it by the other tracking info it provides.

Still, if you decide not to go with it there's an open source script like Analytics called "Piwik". I've tested it on a few sites and works great.
