Virus made loads of files 0KB in program files

Basically had this virus (removed now) that has changed a ton of files in C:\programfiles to 0kb, making things such as call of duty, steam, skype , league of legends , internet download manager to not work, as dlls and other filetypes are now 0kb.

Is there any way to fix this? or am i screwed and have to redownload everything.
.
Just right click on the files and look for previous version, before they were overwritten. Or just restore it to a point were they were fine.

There are no previous versions to restore to, also, system restore does not recover files from what i have read and attempted.
.
The sfc /scannow command (System File Checker) scans the integrity of all protected Windows 7 system files and replaces incorrect corrupted, changed/modified, or damaged versions with the correct versions if possible.

problem is, these aren't dlls or files specific to windows, these are files in relation to far cry or steam etc, so i don't think that program would be any use

Go ahead and try to Download & install them again. And are you sure that the virus was completely & properly removed?
Honestly, I have some tricks to re-registering the DLL's and so forth... BUT ! Not much I can do to files of 0KB that are corrupted.

You can try using Recuva to recover the files, as it does a decent job at allowing you to choose what you want it to attempt to recover . . . Which I've had a lot of luck using that program, hope you do to (if you decide to use it).

If you get the .DLL's and so forth back but need help registering them - let me know
