Gmail Parser is an open source project made with the purpose of reading the emails on your gmail account through a .NET application. This is possible in different ways, one of these is through the POP3 protocol, that google allow on each account.
This project is made with the help of OpenPop, a .dll that allow us to read emails on each server. In this case, i've managed all to work with Gmail (but you can use it for every server that allow it).

IMPORTANT: This is tested with emails inbox of 100-200 emails max, it can have some "bugs" with bigger inboxes
Good job. Now make it send emails as well and you got yourself a lightweight usable email client.

Also you should look into IMAP - it's a newer improved protocol - compared to POP.

Thank you. Thanks for your advice. Yes, IMAP is an improved version of POP
I've been looking for a GMail inbox reader for a long time. This is the only one I've found that gets the body message.
Thanks a lot!
Very nice Job and thanks for Sharing the Source.
Thanks, would this allow you to go on to the next page of emails and parse them?
Thank you all for the great feedbacks, i really appreciate it.

It doesn't do the login in classic mode, it authenticate yourself on the Google's server, and then just download all your emails. There isn't the notion of "go to the next page".
Is it possible to make a filter for "read" & unread" ?

Yes it is possible, just read the documentation of OpenPop

Exactly, just work around it and implement it into your application
Does it only work for gmail? what about pop3.live.com?

As you can read in my thread, you can use it on every server that allow it. I've made it for gmail, you can do it for live and so on

I tired changing your gmail pop to the hotmail one and it wouldn't work that's why I asked and I get a value of type 'Openpop.Mime.message' cannot be converted to system.windows.forms.message using visual basic 2008 what should I do??

message = client.GetMessage(i)
Thank you very much, The source code of this will really help me out on a project I am working on.
