Java Re-install damaged by virus

I have a computer that got a variant of the "FBI virus." I'm fairly certain I removed the virus but we ran into a problem reinstalling Java. Java 7 wont run correctly. It will crash every time we start it. Java 6 runs fine, but i need Java 7. Any ideas?
(Operating system is Vista home edition 32-bit)
"I can fix that."
(Except Apple products, because screw Apple.)
STEP ONE: Removal All Previous Versions
You can removal all the previous versions using the standard removal instructions, Revo-Uninstaller, CCleaner's uninstaller or more. Once you've fully removed the prior versions...

STEP TWO: Alternative Installations
Visit www.Ninite.com and grab a custom list of installations to run from it. Including the Java package.

Please update the post/thread if you have any further issues, questions or if this has been resolved. Thank you.
I ran Trinity Recuse Kit's ClamAV. It cleaned several java-related files. After that, the install worked. Thanks for the advice.
