Over the last few days, Myself and a few other members of Innovation & The reviewing team have been working on a forum that specializes in reviewing Websites, Video and Audio (Music etc)

We made this website to help you produce much higher quality content on the internet! We will do our best to help you succeed.

Hello, sir. Today I will be reviewing your website, review-forums.com.

The niche you have chosen is very unusual/uncommon to be showcased in the HackForums Website Showcase and Reviews forum section, I have only ever seen one other forum alike. I think raising activity on your forum will be very hard unless you can find a few users who are willing to write in-detail reviews, but if you ever do; your forum will be a massive success, I can see it. If you was to ever raise the activity on your forum I think personally, I would go straight to your forum for a review of my product.

The domain you have chosen is very similar to your competitor, that may be a problem. Your domain name describes your forum in one term, that's a plus. Having a domain as such will greatly enhance your SEO rating in the future. Also, choosing a .com domain was a good decision, I've seen many people revert to .co domains when .com or .net is taken, good choice - that's another SEO plus. Overall, great job with the domain.

Your choice in categories is OK. Personally, I would create another tab named "Other Reviews" or something alike. Within this tab I would add forums for reviews on not too popular topics. I also think you should definitely create a tab dedicated to ebooks and specific forum sections for them like monetizing, webmaster and other. On the note of categories, I see you are using the MyTabs plugin, I really advise you to use Omniscient's Tabbed Menu plugin instead; it's faster, smoother and easier to customize (if you know CSS).

The current theme you are using is over-used and over-rated. I have taken a massive dislike to it; it has that Windows operating system look to it in my opinion (it might be based off the OS, I'm not too sure). If I was you, I'd change to a simpler theme until you raise enough funds for a custom MyBB theme. Your forum icons are pretty big and commonly used too. I advise you take a look at http://iconfinder.com and set the search settings to 32x32 icons for your forum.

I think the MyAwards plugin would be a nice addition to your forum. You could maybe reward those who post constant reviews with a lot of quality or those who have reviewed a lot of products/websites in a specific section, that'd be up to you of course. You should maybe look at the NewPoints plugin too, that may increase activity on your forum or give users a reason to post.

Thanks for the review, Much appreciated. We will take these point into mind and we will improve on them. This will be done tomorrow. As for the theme, The more simpler themes look rather tatty in my opinion. We would love to get a custom theme however at this current time we don't have the funds. I will improve on the points given ASAP.
