Natsume Yuujinchou and others

I am looking for some anime recommendations for a few of my favorite, shoujo/sliceoflife productions. I have been searching the internet and have had little luck. Now its not like I haven't found good shoujos that are similar, but I am tired of the weak female whores who falls in love with some dickhead... Haven't found any shoujos with male protagonists.

-Natsume Yuujinchou: 10/10, my top in sol and shoujo and 3rd in everything
-Kimi ni Todoke: 9/10 An awesome story
-Aishiteruze Baby: 4/10 at beginning and 9/10 at the middle and end... Not a huge fan of playboys.
-Usagi Drop: 10/10 Manga 9/10 Anime Just loved it

I have had a very hard time finding series like this, and would appreciate some help. My favorite key aspects are - Entire 180 turn around or just some change, a huge burden thrown on them whether it be recent or old, and the fact that they have had to suffer.

And please if you recommend something, can you please say which anime/manga your recommending it from.
Papa no Iukoto wo Kikinasai, very similar to Usagi Drop.
Hyouka, a slice-of-life detective based story, set in highschool.
Kobato, AMAZING slice of life, one of my #1's with an amazing plot and ideal of character development. Very dark and very happy elements included. Definite recommendation.
Kotoura-san, yet another amazing slice of life, lots of dark moments and light moments just like Kobato, but way more romance and psychological oriented.

These should be enough as a start. I RECOMMEND KOBATO SO BAD.
