Thanks dear Cody :)
I got three good loking Flavours,
Ubuntu
Fedora
Suse Linux
But Suse Linux is really big to downloaded, so I'm going to try for Fedora or Ubuntu :)
Thank you ;)
Try Ubuntu =) - it is a very popular distribution for a reason. I still think my favorite distro though is Slackware.

umm... wut?

On topic: I would recommend Slackware or Ubuntu. Both are very great distros to learn Linux with.

Ubuntu: Very user-friendly, easy enough to start learning Linux.
Slackware: Challenging, actually learn hardcore Linux.
Go with Ubuntu.. You will not even feel the difference between windows 7 and Ubuntu much..
It can run on your system I guess, also make sure you download the 32 bit version
Ubuntu 13.04 32bit Operating System
I'd like to point out that using distros like Ubuntu doesn't quite aid you in learning how linux operates. You should try out a more difficult distro to learn more about it.
I'd say Mint is better than Ubuntu..imo.
Ubuntu became too much nooby and with the Amazon implementation..eww.
Can you at least give us some sort if idea what kind of computer you have ?

I can see what CPU you have and RAM. Nothiing more...

But anyways. Crunchbang, Linux Mint are good distros for beginners and do not need to much resources.
well if you're looking forward to learning a lot more about how linux works overall, anything but ubuntu. if you're using it just to use it, make sure the interface isn't so graphic heavy. any flavor that has a light interface actually.

No.

Go with ubuntu, then to something more advanced. Otherwise you're jumping to someone too advanced, ubuntu is advanced enough for someone who's used to W7.

No.

He wants to get used to linux, not a OS that's nothing like Windows which is just gonna end up with him going back to Windows (referring to crunchbang).

I tried mint as a beginner and had anxiety about using my laptop which has mint.

Then I tried ubuntu and fell in love.
just run arch linux like a boss configure it exactly how you like it :)

beginners guide and all :3
