Giffy
Giffy is a completely free and open-source application which allows you to create your own animated gifs using your own screen! Forget downloading huge pieces of software and then converting the recordings to a gif format, Giffy does both of those things for you!
I will be updating this sometimes, so if you have any suggestions then let me know.
The source is C#, so deal with it.

Nice release. A lightweight GIF recorder is hard to come by.
I'll definitely be using this.
Bookmarked for later use, my current GIF recorded lags worse then north Korea's nukes xD
Good work Perplexity, I also liked the "Created with Giffy" watermark on the bottom right. :)

Haha, I figured I'd put that there as an example; you can easily remove it :)

Yeah I found other gif recorders but they weren't very user friendly, plus they made you pay for them.

You're forgetting that it's the highest quality settings @ 30fps.

Thank you thank you thank you. Even though I use camtasia to record gifs on my main computer, Its a real pain in the ass to install it on other computers.
I was going to make one myself eventually, but no I don't have to 😝
