I've altered the way join groups work with a quick plugin. I've had a lot of complaints from the group owners about join requests. So what I've done is restricted them to upgraded members only. I think that's the best way to handle the abuse. So from now on you can't do a join request without being upgraded.
I do believe however that any group owner wishing to add a regular member can still do so by manually adding them.
Thank you.
Looks to be a good function.
Thankyou.
Didn't see this, but it makes sense.

I don't think I've ever seen any group want people to apply via the Join Group button. Why not just disable it entirely? Do you anticipate someone in the future might want to use it?
Edit: Or are group leaders using it and I'm just not aware of it?

The button is fine, it's for lazy people.
This seems like a great idea to help group owners, lucky for me I am buying l33t soon!
Not too sure how bad group leaders get spammed with join requests but i'm sure this will reduce it by a lot. Great update.

I believe the group owners are getting a ton of group join requests from normal members applying via UserCP.

Thats how I have had it described.
Great work Omni, you've really been kicking ass with the public\visible updates as of late (although you're always working behind the scenes).

Most times leaders do use applications to recruit.. but even if you have applications closed, you may have a user who clicks that "request" button, and after doing some investigating, you may let him in. There is no harm in having the button, or letting users use it.
I think an option to toggle the button would work nicely. For group owners who do not want people spamming their group, and for group owner's who don't mind it as much.
Whoray, I love being upgraded.
I love dicks.

Yea usually i will see "Do not apply via userCp you will be blacklisted" or something like that :\
Seems like a good way to stop spams on it, glad it was easy to do too
Great idea Omniscient, you seem more active than ever lately. It's nice to see you constantly adding to HF.
I'm like a crushed light bulb, all out of shine.
I'm so scared of the future so I stay stuck, broken in to pieces and my spirit's all taped up.
