Darren explains it thoroughly in this video:
It's a pretty nifty tool if you ask me. (Oct 8, 2013 05:33 AM)Chrisseh Wrote: I believe you'd use this to take a backup of important files. EG if you were going to somebodys house, stick it in USB and wait, pick it up and run. That's not even close to what it is. OP it is a little device that you can program to do anything that a keyboard would do. It can open files, notepad and write stuff down ( That you program into it ) It can do anything that a keyboard can do heres a video of it I find it interesting. I wonder if it would be possible to download a program that does this..
Well yes... But you Would need a way of launching it. Either from a web attack, or by using the rubber ducky. As an owner of a ducky, it has it's occasional benefits and fun times, but most of the time I can't be assed to use it. There are some neat payloads, if you get a chance to view some of those made by fans etc. some that can bypass windows UAC, and disable firewalls, everything. But the beauty of it, is the computer doesn't suspect a thing because it thinks it's a user typing at a keyboard!

This emulates a HID.
Computers trust human input . So, essentially to the computer it will mimic someone typing on the keyboard, even thought it doesn't exist physically. So you could use this to do something as simple as write a note in notepad for them to find all the way to gaining access a shell on the victims computer. From there you basically can do what ever you want, at that point you definitely have a foot hold to work with. (Nov 4, 2013 09:06 PM)NeymarS Wrote: So, could this execute a RAT onto a computer? From what I believe, yes. But that would require you to put the RAT on the 'Ducky' if that is possible ( Which I believe it is ) then yes |
