★Introduction★

Hello HackForums members,
I am The Illusionist my real name is Tim and I have been a DJ on Internet radio's for years! I enjoyed it a lot and I wanted to share this to make people exprience the same fun I had the past years. This is my first guide I ever made so please leave some feedback.
You will learn a lot! Things like how to set up a Internet radio and how to be a DJ on a existing radio. I will offer payed software for free and explain all kinds of tips and trick in the software.
I will be working a lot with spoilers for images, please open all the spoilers because the images contain precious information!

★Software★

I have been using the program Sam Broadcaster, I prefer the old version of this software because it's very easy to use.
Sinds this is a payed software I will give every members that I believe isn't a leacher this software. The only thing you need to do is PM me for the files.

★Installation★

Open the .exe and just press "Yes and next" it doesn't contain any toolbars etc.
It will ask you to make a Database just select FireBird this is the best Database you can use for this.
It will ask for a payment key open key.txt and copy the key and paste it into the program.
After that is done it will ask you to add music. Don't skip this just select the folder you have your music it and wait a few minutes.
After that it done it should look like this:
Spoiler (Click to View)
This means you have the program all working! If you did not get this and got some error's please PM me or post your problem. I will be happy to help you!

★Set up★

Now you got your program working you want to set up some things.
On the top of your screen you see "window"
Spoiler (Click to View)
Click on this and add the following things (just click on it to add it):
-Aux 1
-Encoders
Place them like I have in this picture:
NOTE: I also turned off: Auto DJ and put in on Manual you should do the same.
Spoiler (Click to View)
Now there is a "bug" in this program if you would play music now it will have very LQ music. Follow the steps below to fix this:
1. On "Deck A" you see this little button: EQ press that. Then you see:
EQ - AGC - DSP
Click on AGC and you will see this:
Spoiler (Click to View)
Now I am going to change some settings please do the same:
1. Turn on: Bypass all under "settings"
2. Turn on: 5 Bands Processor
It will look like this:
Spoiler (Click to View)
Now do this for every tab you see in the top of the Audio settings "page"
The tabs are: Deck a Deck B Sound FX etc etc.
Do the 2 steps I explained above on all of these!
Now the last part of the set up:
You see the window "Voice FX" put the mic all the way up.
Also press: Confic on Voice FX than select "Encoders" like this:
Spoiler (Click to View)
Now you got your set up complete!
★Explanation★

I will explain every window you see and what it does.

Deck A & Deck B:
You can play music in this just simply double click music from your Track list or Queue. The reason why there are 2 decks if 1 song is almost finished you can already play the other so it will be a smooth "transaction" from song to song.

Voice FX:
That is the windows where you can turn on/off your mic so you can talk.
Just press: Mic on NOTE: People can NOT hear you right now.
Than press: Lock talk if Lock talk is on everyone that listens can hear you. Once you turned it off that cant :).

Volume & clock: I don't use these you can put them away if you wan't to.

Playlist: Here you can organize your playlists I don't use it but if you are a control freak you are going to like that.

Queue:
If you select a song from your Tracks it will end up there, its the list of song that you still need to play. It's also the

list "Play queue" mode will play. (The Play queue is used if you want to play lets say 3 songs in the time you are AFK you

can turn this on by the DJ modes)
AUX 1:
I use this one for background music when I talk I recommend to put it at this volume:
Spoiler (Click to View)

Tracks:
Here are all your tracks you have added into SAM (the program) you can use the search icon the search for music. The green + is used to add more music. You can do it per file or intire maps.

Pro tip: Download music from Youtube using a Youtube mp3 converter. ALWAYS download Lyrics video's

because the OG videos can contain extra sounds etc. But always check the video before downloading.

History:
Here are all the songs that you have played.

Encoders:
This is the window where you can go life on the radio. I will go deeper into this later.

This is the end of part 1, the next part you will learn how to make your own simple radio station and how to go on air on a radio station.

Welcome to Part 2, I will be teaching you how to go life on a radio and make a simple one. Also I will give you a TON of tips on the end :).

★Your own radio★

So this is mainly for trying out how everything works with a few people listening, don't expect to many people unless you advertise your radio a lot. It's better to find a existing successful internet radio station.

Go to: http://www.listen2myradio.com
And create a free account.
You will get e-mail for verification so use a real e-mail address!

When you log in you will see this text:"You need to install your radio!
press here to install :here"

Of course press: here

You need to enter 2 passwords:
broadcaster password: This is the password you should give to your own DJ's.

admin password: It's the same thing but if you have the admin password and you want to go on the stream and someone is already on air you will kick them off.

Title: Enter a title something like: My first radio station

Than enter some text you want on your website of the radio station.

Then fill in a URL that is not in use yet.

Then choose a server you want to stream on, I recommend taking the server that is near you.

After you are done you will see this:

RADIO/VIDEO SERVER HAS BEEN CHANGED!!!

please wait 60 seconds till your radio/video will get on

Please check Radio Details and transmit to the new serve

new ip of broadcast server:
port : 1**
!

Press: "Radio details"

If you scroll down you will see something like this:
Spoiler (Click to View)
Now you have created your own radio stations! (I am not really going to use this one so don’t try visiting it)

★Encoders★

With the encoders you can go life on air! I will show you how to set this up.

If you see the windows Encoders you see this black + click on that.
You will see a screen with different options select: MP3 (normal)

Now you will see a screen with format select:
128 k/bs 44,1 Khz, Stereo
Spoiler (Click to View)

Now click on: Server details
Fill in:

Server IP: The IP you see in the details of your radio station.
Server port: Enter the port you see in the details of your radio station.
Password: Enter the admin password
Station name: Enter your DJ name example: DJ-Illusionist
Genre: Enter the Genre of music you play
Website URL: Enter the URL of your radio page

And press "Ok"
You can see that it is added in the encoders, if you want to go life press the black play button.

If everything works you will see: Encoding 1 sec 2 sec etc...
That means you are live!
If you get a error please Google the code the find out what is wrong.

★Tips★

1. Always start with music and after the first song start talking.
2. If you don't know anymore what to say just play music instead of silence on the radio.
3. Keep the listeners entertained by making jokes or partner up with a friend.
4. Keeps things interesting play different kind of music every day.
5. Get yourself some Jingles from Google.
6. Maybe write a "script" of things you want to say it helps to avoid you forgetting what to say.
7. Looking for a "job" as radio DJ? Find a forum where people search for DJ's
8. If you have a Laptop the mic thats build into it should be good enough for beginners, or buy one for $10. If you are looking to take this more serious I recommend buying a mic from $50+

This is my guide on how to be a Radio DJ! I hope you learned a lot please leave some feedback. It took a lot of time to make this.

Because this is one of the programs I have learned to work with. And I think this one is very easy to use and understandable. That's why I based my guide on this program.
And I don't use PAL scripts.
Nice guide bro. Going to try this out later!

You really should look into PAL scripts.
It makes everything automated.
Like jingle`s every hour.
Or the news every hour.

And icecast you can use to stream from your computer.
So you don`t have to rely on an external server.
With icecast your computer becomes the server.

Seems nice I will look into PAL scripts.
But the problem of making my computer the server is that I can only handle a few listeners because I am streaming quite a lot of data. I need an external server to stream to all the listeners.
Fine tutorial, well explained well done.
