I use to do a lot of GFX back in the day when I was little (like around 2008 when I was 13).
I was browsing an old forum (my first forum) that I was registered and found this.

This tutorial helped me a lot when I first started doing GFX.

You can start with GIMP. It's great for beginners.
Then once you get better, you can change to Photoshop.
