Running Ubuntu, Kali etc on your android tablet or smartphone [Tutorial]

Hello there, i got bored today so i decided to see if my galaxy SIII could handle running Ubuntu at a fairly decent speed. And to my amaze, it can! And now i'm here to share with you guys on how easy it was.

What we will need:
1. Your Smartphone/Tablet MUST be rooted!
2. Complete Linux Installer. You can download it here WITH the donate key included: http://www.sendspace.com/file/pxxzh8
3. Android Terminal Emulator. Android Terminal Emulator download.
4. AndroidVNC. AndroidVNC download.
5. A big SDCard with atleast 16Gb memory. It does work with only phone memory aswell, but not for long-term use.
6. (Optional): The image of the distro you want to install, you can get the distro's here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/linuxonandroid/files/

The app supports: Ubuntu 13.04, 13.10, Debian 5 and 8, Kali Linux, Fedora, Arch Linux, openSUSE

Some requirements from your phone/tablet:
+ MUST BE ROOTED. As said above.
+ Kernel that supports loop devices. Here's a list for known kernels and ROM's http://linuxonandroid.org/working-devices/
+ Armv7 processor.
+ As much free RAM as possible.

Let's get down to business, shall we? :)

First off, plug your phone/tablet into the computer and move the Complete Linux Installer app with the donate key over to a folder on your phone/tablet,
now first install the main app and then the donate key. No need to start everything directly, but before you do want to open the app then open the Donation key app first THEN the main app. The proceed to install AndroidVNC and the Android Terminal Emulator.

I will use ubuntu for this tutorial and the image i've chosen is located here:
(Direct link) Ubuntu image download!
Ofcourse can you choose to download it from the app itself directly to the phone, but i think it's way easier this way. :)
When you have downloaded the image, unpack it to a folder on your desktop. You should now have 2 files named: ubuntu-13.10.LARGE.ext2.img and ubuntu-13.10.LARGE.ext2.img.md5. Now make a folder in the root of your sdcard called "ubuntu", or if you use your phones/tablets internal memory then just make a folder in "storage/sdcard0"(your emulated SDCard) called "ubuntu". Now place these 2 files in there. Now to the fun part!

Open up the Complete Linux Installer Donation key app it's rather self explanatory on what to do next when you have opened it.

Now open Complete Linux Installer and swipe to the right and tap Launch, now choose Ubuntu in the drop down list, if it isn't there then press on settings up in the top right and choose edit. now enter the name "Ubuntu" and locate your .img file that we're using.

Now save the changes , press Configure Linux and set it to the resolution that your phone/tablet is using.

Then head back and press "Start Linux", what will happen now is that it will open up the terminal emulator and boot the ubuntu distro, or any other distro that you have chosen, and it will ask you to verify the file with the md5 file that came along in the distro package, just press "y" and hit enter, this will take some time but will eventually boot up.

when it's booted you will see something like "root@localhost:/#" which means it has booted up. To shut it down just type "exit" and hit enter, now if you want GUI you need to launch AndroidVNC. Just press the home button on your phone/tablet and launch AndroidVNC, the only things you will need to change is the address, password and color format.

The password is: ubuntu
Address is: localhost
Color Format: 24-bit color

Now just press connect, once you have connected and have the GUI press the menu button on your phone/tablet and tap on "Input mode" and choose Touchpad.
And there we go! :D To exit the GUI just press the menu button and choose disconnect and don't forget to open up the terminal emulator aswell and type "exit" and enter if you want to shut it all down :)

If something isn't clear enough just ask me and i'll try my best to rephrase it so you can understand it better :)
