[Port-forward] Can't port-forward to my VM IP address [SOLVED]

Hey guys, Yoan here AKA Aura 🙂

So I have a little problem on my hands right now. In order to test DarkComet inside a VM, I have to port-forward both my host computer's IP and my VM's IP. It works with no problems with my host's machine, but I can't seem to port-forward to my VM's IP address. When I click "Save" nothing happens. It's like if it was refusing the rule. My router is a TP-Link TD-W8901G.
Here's how it looks like so far :

I didn't configure my VM's network card to have a static IP, it gets one automatically. The IP it gets is 10.0.2.15. I guess it's the next thing I should try, to attribute it one automatically, as well as a DNS server.

Any ideas on what the problem is and how I could fix it ?

Thanks you ! 🙂

When you port forward on your machine, then you just need to enable port forwarding on your vm settings. For example, I use oracle's virtual machine.
If you're using oracle's vm, you select the vm then go to settings<network<adapter 1 advanced settings< portforwarding and add the forwarded ports in there. Darkcomet needs udp and tcp opened on the same port. Hope I helped.
Here's how your portforwarding settings should look like.

Then I shouldn't even need to port-forward manually to my VM via my router's setup webpage ? I just did what you told me, going to try it right now.
CanYouSeeMe.org still can't it. Tried listening with DarkComet, then with Port Listener. Says it can't see my port open.

Did you open noip first then darkcomet and listen to the port? Sometimes that was the problem I had.

Didn't open No-IP. But I'm in bed now so I'll try tomorrow evening as I'm working and I'll let you know.

Alright I'll look at this thread tomorrow.

If your VMs are in NAT, you need to portforward through NAT as well using properties of Virtual Network Editor.

And I would I do that ? If you tell me I can easily find it with a simple Google search, just tell me and I'll look for it myself 😝

I can tell you how it is done in VMWare, in VB it might be different.

Then I guess I'll to look for these options on VirtualBox tomorrow. I'll let you know as well how it goes. Now that this problem looks more oriented toward a Virtual Machine config, should I request my thread to be moved in the Virtual Machines section.

if my memoryu is good you should set it to bridge network , and open the port on your rooter with your vm ip not the host one

I found instruction for VB - https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch06.html#natforward
That's good guys, thank you for your answers. I'll try all this tomorrow evening and i'll let you know how it went !

Okay so.
I added the port-forward via the network card and the NAT and even opened up my No-IP, loaded my host and all. Listened with both Port Listened, and DarkComet after, it's not working.
Should I move this in the Virtual Machines section ?

We'll try one more thing then you'll move it. Still in the vm settings, change the network to bridged adapter. Also don't forget to open noip first, then darkcomet. Hopefully this'll work.

I just tried with the bridged adapter, and it's not working too. Opening No-IP DUC first, then listening to my port with DarkComet. Didn't work, tried with Port Listener too, didn't work. I guess it's time to move it in the Virtual Machines section.
