Taking Java I, useless teacher, needing help

So this year in High School I'm taking Java I, the only thing is my teacher isn't the best. She doesn't explain much and just tells us to watch one YouTube video on Java Programming each day and do what they do in the video a few times. What I'm wanting to know is if there is any way to get a jump start in Java Programming or is watching YouTube videos the best way to go about it? We don't even have Java Programming books to use in class. Is there an online text book somewhere? I've tried searching, but couldn't find any free ones.

Thanks in advance,
GetParanoid
Not too long ago someone released like 20 Java eBooks in this section. Might wanna look back a few pages or do another search.
i know how it is man. my Java teacher did the minimum amount of teaching she could. I understand. if you need some help i can try
