Just beautiful, isn't it?

Number of seasons: 1
Number of episodes: 20
Genre: Romcom, SoL

Up to episode three at the time of this thread being made. Shaft's most recent gloriously good anime venture, Nisekoi, is already getting me all giddy. I'm not much of a harem guy, they are normally just sorry excuses for plot mixed in with cliches and an overabundance of "plot". Not my cup of tea. Nisekoi however, is a properly done romcom harem with all the niceties of Shaft's spectacular production capabilitie: Fantastic art, amazing voice acting, orgasmic direction and unparalleled story telling.

Synopsis: Copied from Wikipedia
Code
Nisekoi follows high school student Raku Ichijou, the son of a leader in the yakuza faction Shuei-Gumi, and Chitoge Kirisaki, the daughter of a boss in a rival gang known as Beehive. They unexpectedly meet when Chitoge hops a wall and knees Raku in the face. After she runs off, Raku realizes he has lost his pendant which was given to him by his childhood sweetheart with whom he made a secret promise. After discovering Chitoge is a new transfer student in his class, he forces her to help him look for the pendant. During the search, they begin to dislike each other.

Upon returning home, Raku learns that the Shuei-Gumi and Beehive gangs have agreed to settle their feud by pairing their leaders' children. Raku learns that his girlfriend-to-be is none other than Chitoge. For the next three years, they must pretend to be in a relationship to maintain peace between the gangs. This turns out to be quite a challenging task, not only because of their hatred for one another, but also because Raku has a crush on another schoolmate, Kosaki Onodera, whom he secretly wishes was the girl who bears the key to his pendant. Various developments complicate the situation, including Chitoge's over-protective bodyguard, a female hitman, a girl who claims to be Raku's fiancée, and the existence of multiple keys

If I haven't convinced you start watching this, I'm not sure what else I can do. May the anime Gods have mercy on your soul for missing out on this masterpiece. inb4 it ends in a trainwreck.

So far, Nisekoi is off to a great start. Studio Shaft could make anyone giddy with their vivid animation and witty lines. I'd recommend it as well even if you're not into the genre. Pretty interesting premise for a series if you ask me.
Tas recommended me this and I will start it tomorrow.
2 days left for my exams to end then i will start watching it.
I've been watching since it began airing, I've been enjoying it so far ^.^
Ugh, I'd watch it if it had more than 3 episodes out currently. Looks like I gotta wait a few months.
Good to hear a few have decided to check this series out. I can only hope it continues in its amazing direction.
I started watching it when it aired, and I'm quite satisfied with how its going. I hope it can keep up the quality, really enjoying it so far.

Read this so I'm going to give it a try. On the first episode.
Scammed by Oak

Do NOT trust.
Just a thought but the gangster chick will end up being the childhood sweetheart, won't she?
Please, please let this plot not be THAT predictable and cliché.

Anyways, it ain't the story but the way it's told. I'll look into this.
Wait this is a harem?

At first I was gonna watch it cause I thought he was searching for his childhood sweetheart and the pendant just was mass produced.

But he gets all the girls?

No. Nope. Nadda. Fudge this. I ain't watching this anymore.

He doesn't get all the girls, he is surrounded by girls who are interested. He just has to find out which is his childhood sweetheart....or which one he is most fond of.

You know what I meant when I said "all." No need to get defensive and wikipedia the definition. I thought this show would've been a heartfelt anime about forging several relationships but eventually having to break up with them all after he mistakes a girl as his childhood friend until he finds the one he truly loves.

Having multiple partners is a very common theme this year (and many years), and I've just finished To LOVE-ru Darkness OVA, so I have my fill of it for awhile.

To LOVE-ru is an ecchi fanservice fucking nightmare with a wasted plot. Nothing like Nisekoi. The women in this show actually wear clothes and it is much more heavily invested in the story rather than tits and pussy face plants.

I'm very aware of that, but I'm not big on the harem/several-partners concept anyways in animes. The screen time is sectioned off awkwardly in my opinion. I've just had too much of it for now, so I'm not up for Nisekoi is all. It just seems like the anime is something that the synopsis did not originally portray it to be; that's all I'm saying.
