Procrastination means postponing or delaying something, usually because of laziness or carelessness.
I have seen many, many posts on HF and all around the Internet saying „I know exactly what to do to make 50$/100$/500$/1000$ per day/week/month, bug I'm just lazy to do it, so I make almost nothing.“. Have you ever been in such a situation? Where you know what to do, but can't get yourself to do it? You know you should lost those few extra pounds, start doing your homework or work on that project you have, but you are just too lazy to do it? Maybe you are doing it right now. If you aren't making money after reading this package, you are a procrastinator.
Don't worry. I do it, you do it, we all do it. But you can't allow procrastination to consume you so much that it will make you completely ignore something, for example the information you learned in this package.
Want to know how to stop procrastination? Keep reading.
This method that I'm about to reveal to you is going to work on all types of procrastination. Doesn't matter if it's avoiding to workout, do your homework, create videos, fulfill your orders, whatever. There is a simple catch that will let you prevail all of those.
But first, let's do a quick case study about procrastination. Why do people do it, why do people procrastinate? It's simple – because there is nothing at risk. Going to the gym or starting your own video channel is not a question of life and death. It's of importance, but it's not that risky and urgent that it just makes you do it. That's it. That's why people procrastinate. They know they should do something, but if they don't what happens? Nothing. Scew it, I'm not doing it then. Makes sense, doesn't it?
Let me share a personal experience of mine when I started making money online. As you might know, I was working at Postloop (I will talk about this in later threads, but if you are interested, PM me!), making $5-10$ a day. And that was great amount of money for me at the time. It resulted in around 50$-60$ per week that I had extra and could spend on whatever I wanted or just save up. And since I was doing what I usually was doing (browsing forums), I was really enthusiastic about it.
And that kept going for few weeks. I made a decent amount of money and I was really proud. But it started to became boring. I didn't know what to post, or where. I avoided some blogs and forums just because I liked others more. So I made less money per day. That kept going and going until one day I made 0$! And the day after that as well. I couldn't get myself to do it.
So what did I do? I knew I was losing money every day that I didn't post, but I couldn't get myself to get back to posting. I was making different excuses such as making enough money already or studying better methods, while in reality I was just lazy.
And then it clicked. I had to put something on stake, or otherwise I wouldn't do it. So I told myself, if in 7 days I don't make $50 I will give $50 of my own to my dad. I was risking $50 at that point. I decided it wasn't enough. I also decided to give away any money from Postloop I made in those 7 days, if it's less than $50.
So I was risking potentially $99,99 which was quite a sum for me. You know what happened? I made more money than ever! I wasn't checking my earnings, I was just posting and thinking about my goal. And I made it possible, I got back on the track, started working and made even more!
So how can you do it? Apply the same to yourself. Fill up this form for me, will you?
„If I don't [your goal] (make 50$ online, make 2 videos) in [time] (a week, 2 weeks) I will give away [amount of money] (10$, 50$, 100$...) to a charity/friend/family member.“
You don't have to risk your money. You can risk anything else, for example your reputation. Let's say you have a presentation to make, for one of your classes. State to your friends that you have made a killer presentation that will blow them away, even if you didn't. That way, you will have to do it, since you don't want to look like an idiot when the time comes. Or even better, your proffesor.
There is a pretty interesting site related to this. It's called Stickk, and it's where I got my inspiration from. Let me quickly introduce you to http://www.stickk.com/.
sticK allows you to set up a goal for yourself, and put a certain amount of money at stake. If you fail, they will donate the money to the charity. The stake is completely optional, and stickK has a great system of helping you achieve your goals. All of it is explained on their site already, so there is no need for me to repeat that. Check it out for yourself: http://www.stickk.com/tour.php .
Other than that, I'd suggest you to read some more of my HQ threads:

Alright, there you have it. The secret to beating procrastination. Now what are you waiting for?
Go make some money, go to the gym, create your website, sell your product or services, just do it!
Go back and read it, you procrastinator!
Great read! There are some solid points and great tips. Thanks for the motivation.
No offence though, guide is a great read and all, but wouldnt you mind backing up your own words with your own products/proofs/whatever you made so those lazy-ass people can find it as an inspiration? Words mean shit in this kind of business, you can bullshit all day long unless you have strong example of your work.
I'm good at procrastinating haha. This will help me get back to some projects i've put on hold due to laziness and stay focused.
Good read, Thanks

This is really true, and I fall victim to this. I could be making money, but I just end up being lazy and playing games :/

Hi,
I have this problem and I found a solution for that : Use of todo-lists.
Now, I have a white board where I put everything I have to do on it and I love erase something I have done ... that's why I keep doing things I have to do now.
SticK can be used as a toto-list, but it is better to write I think + I just have to turn my head to see what's left.

I'm not really a programmer, or a knowledgeable guy about that, but it looks like to me you need more practice. Just take it easy and remember, practice makes perfect.

Excellent! I actually remembered that when I posted the thread, but forgot to add it. Setting small time goals that are heading towards the big ones is a nice way of getting yourself motivated and into a work routine. Great advice!
Read all 3 related threads and you realy motivated me! ,,,too bad that I have to sleep now and wake up just as lazy and bored as usual,,, oh wait,, I can write a note to my self that I see first thing I wake up: MAKE MONEY! NOW!

I've actually never thought of it in this way. And never have I actually never seen information looking like this anywhere on the Internet. All what you say really makes sense, and i can easily identify myself with what you write. Really well written, and i already bookmarked this thread! :)
I've got some questions that i would be happy you answered:
Your thoughts about procrastination seems very psychological. Do you study psychology?
You say alot about setting goals and consequenses are the way out of laziness and the way to start concentrating.
Do you have any other tips/ways for getting rid of laziness?
Put link in bookmark folder :P
