Hello,
I just finished my placements, 6-4. ( i lost 3 of them bcause afkers )

But I ended with a victory and I was placed in bronze IV, how?
I read somewhere 6 wins were a minimum for Silver, so how can I be placed in Bronze IV? Last season I was Bronze 3 because I wasn't ready for Ranked, so i was excited to try again.

If someone could explain this, that'd be great! appreciate it.

that's nearly impossible unless he has amazing mmr if he did he would of been out of bronze

Ok so let me try to clear it up :). Basically placements go off your current mmr. From personal experience i feel like its 7-3 wins to be placed exactly where your mmr dictates, for example i have gold V mmr and was in gold V. Went 7-3 and got Gold V. My friend went 6-4 and got placed in the same leauge but perhaps his mmr was higher. Anything lower than 7-3 may get you placed lower. Noone except riot is sure how the system works though :P

That's not possible, with under 200 you would have still been placed B3, so you are a liar.

You have to get at LEAST 6-4 to get higher than what you were (a chance too, at least.) unless he was dodging his promos and was bronze 1 league but silver 1 mmr, that's impossible. I don't understand why you guys lie about this?

6 wins was silver in season 3, no one knows how it works now. It's pseudo random or the algorithem is janked, we don't know. But a few things are known but not much.

When your account is fresh straight from 30, you play matches. Depending on the level of players that you play, it will place you in that elo after 10 matches.

For example, as you play your first few matches, you will play vs. Bronzes/Silvers, then you will move up the Silver ladder, and eventually into gold, ending your 10 placement matches.

This is solo queue, if you play with a plat/diamond player and you play with the higher elo players, you will end up some where near them if you have more wins than losses.

Your placements put you around the level of the players you play against.

For the most part, it is an overall reset of the MMR system though.

Almost everyone is expected to go down.

If you were in Diamond or Challenger, you would have been put into Platinum or lower. That is a confirmed measure of this reset.

Just finished placements on my smurf and went 5-5 and got bronze 1

I was bronze 3 last season on this smurf but I had like silver 1 mmr so idk
