What does your program?

Upload file to Mediafire and download it than from your VM-OS?

It's not that simple. I know what this is all about and the only possible solution in my opinion would be to reverse engineer the program to adapt it for a VM running Windows, that's it.

Does this program fun fine when its not inside a virtualized environment? It may detect the VM and execute another code which will not allow it to run successfully.

You need to specify the program and OS. Otherwise, it is waste of time.

The program is a 16-bits program.
It runs on Windows XP at the OP's driving school.
The program is custom made for this school specifically.
He already have to do a little tweak just to launch the program.
I think this program won't be able to run on a VM or a school that doesn't belong to that driving school, like I said, it's custom made and must be reverse engineered in order to discover how it works.

Most likely it uses hardware ID. He can try using one of free debuggers to track programs requests to the system. It is easier said than done though.

That's what I'm thinking too. That's why I think this thread belongs in the Reverse Engineering and Decompiling section.

Has he even tried to debug it? It might relatively simple due to age of the program.
