Guide to Ranking up in Halo: Reach
(Will make this prettier and add images very soon!)
So... You've just bought Halo: Reach and you're looking to rank up rather fast?
Perfect! Here are a few tips and tricks to ranking up fast in Halo: Reach.
1. Grifball:
The first tip is to play the game mode, "Grifball."
Why? It's a rather easy game mode that goes by fast and awards you a vast amount of cR.
The more people you kill, the more cR you get, so try to kill as many enemies as you can.
This should be easy if you camp in their spawn.
Also, try to prolong the game for as long as you can. The longer the game drags out, the larger your "game complete" cR bonus will be.
Just play a few games of grifball and you'll get the hang of it almost instantly sue to it's simplicity.
If you can, grab a few friends and tell them to sign in guests.
Kill them as much as you'd like for three games, then stop for a day, or you will get banned for cheating.
You may also want to let the guests get a few kills as it'll decrease your chances of being banned.
2. Firefight:
Try the game mode, "Score Attack."
When you select it and start it up, wait until the game mode "Gruntapocalypse" is available for vote.
Gruntapocalypse is exactly as it sounds, endless hordes of grunts for you to kill and farm cR.
Go for headshots and the game should be a piece of cake.
Beware! Don't let the grunts get too close to you, they will throw plasma grenades at you and shoot you with Fuel Rod Cannons.
3. Play A Lot:
It may seem obvious, but the more you play, the more cR you rack up.
Not just because of the accumulated cR, but the jackpots.
The more you play, the higher your chances of winning a high cR jackpot for up to 30,000 cR.
Most of the time the jackpot is 3,000 cR, which is still a rather high amount of credits.
4. Challenges:
If you go into your start menu, you will se a daily challenges section.
Complete the daily challenges to the best of your ability, this can decrease the time it takes to earn credits and rank up.
Now, the weekly challenge... Those often have very large bonuses, but require a lot of personal time.
If you're dedicated enough, earning credits through challenges should be a snap.
5. Commendations:
The final tip is to go for commendation completion.
The easiest commendations to go for are (campaign):
Cannon Fodder
Splash Damage
Multikill
Flawless Cowboy
Demon
In order to get your Cannon Fodder, Splash Damage, and Multikill commendations up, you will need to load up "Sword Base" in the campaign.
At the start of the mission, kill nothing! Run until you pick up the target locater.
Hide in a safe place behind a crate until you get a checkpoint. When you get the checkpoint, fire your target locater into the crowd of enemies you let live.
As soon as they die, revert to your last checkpoint. Rinse and repeat as many times as you'd like.
You will get substantial amounts of cR! This is, by far, the easiest way to get cR while you're still new at Halo: Reach.
In order to get your Demon and Flawless Cowboy commendations up, load the first mission of the campaign on Heroic.
Run trhough it fast, you can die as many times as you'd like.
At the end of the mission, when everything fades to black and it's about to start the new mission, hit pause and "Save and Quit."
When you reload the mission, you should see a blank screen. Wait a few seconds and it should say you completed the mission.
You will gain progress on your Demon and Flawless Cowboy commendations. Simply start the mission again and the same thing will happen.
You will need to re-do the mission if you decide to start another mission later.
There you have it!
Hopefully these tips will be very helpful in the near future!
