This thread was originally a tutorial on how to achieve a progress bar in the icon similar to Google Chrome and new installers, but I decided to revisit it and wrap everything up nicely, ready for direct transfer to your clipboard. :P
The WindowsAPICodePack is filled with handy little improvements for your program including thumbnail buttons and task lists. I intend to develop this to a full wrapper later, but this will do for now.
Currently, the wrapper supports every aspect of the tray progress bar. Including, value, maximum, color (red, amber, green), and style (progress, marquee, none). There's also support for overlay icons.

Credits to Oxygen Team for the overlay icons.

omg thank you for this, this might seem crazy but I was thinking about how to do that in VB.net just a few days ago.. kinda scary but im happy at the same time I guess 🤝
Yeah this is nice, I was playing around with the API as well, there are a lot of cool features that are "hidden"from visual studio.

Decided to go back over this today and create a little wrapper for it which I will expand on later. This was for a project I've been asked to create and thought I'd share a more convenient version. Enjoy!
Nice release Odus. He's been showing me this Skype for a while now. :P
Good job Odus! (y) I like it!

I wonder if you can implement this into console applications.... >:D
There's no reason you couldn't. Just reference Microsoft.WindowsAPICodePack.Taskbar.

In case you don't want a to add it as a .dll
Mavamaarten~ win 7 no dll
EDIT: What happend to the WindowsAPICodePack? It used to be freely available by MS now they seem to have buried it, It's only because some developers re-uploaded it to nuget its on there.. looks like some of the original source is still on github
Well here is the original MS page for it...
seems rather empty now.... wtf? i just can't believe they buried it like that...

Pesky Mava, I thought I was the first to do this here on HF. D:
My guess is that MS either wants it for themselves or are planning to bolt it on to the .NET framework. Personally hoping it's the latter.

Very simple, a case of setting the Value property to the TrackBar's value in the ValueChanged event. Example:
Declaration
Code Private _tpb As New TrayProgressBar
Usage
Code Private Sub TrackBar1_Scroll(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles TrackBar1.Scroll
_tpb.Value = TrackBar1.Value
End Sub

It would be cool if you could instead of making it go left to right, make it go bottom to top.
Nice was looking for something like this, Thanks Odus :)
