So, I've been seeing a ton of posts about how people are having problems Jailbreaking their iPhones that have 6.1.6 installed. This is obviously common, as most people use evasi0n, and evasi0n doesn't offer a 6.1.6 break. You have to revert multiple versions down for evasi0n to work properly.

So, here I am to fix this problem.

What we're going to use is a program called Redsn0w. I'm sure many people in the Jailbreaking community have heard of it. It seems to be the only software out right now that offers a 6.1.6 untethered break through p0sixspwn.

You're going to download 0.9.15b3, which is the Beta 3 version. Be sure to download the correct one.

Either of those links are fine. Choose whichever you'd like.

Download your iOS 6.0 IPSW corresponding to your device.

After you've successfully installed both Redsn0w 0.9.15b3, and your iOS 6.0 IPSW, follow the step-by-step instructions listed below.

1. Right click on Redsn0w and go into properties, then compatibility, and run it compatible with Windows XP Service Pack 3. (Or 2 if you're running Vista, I believe.)

2. Now, open up Redsn0w and click extras, then select IPSW.

3. Select your iOS 6.0 IPSW, click back, and Jailbreak.

4. Remember, Redsn0w only gives you a tethered jailbreak. We will need to Boot Tether the device by closing down Redsn0w completely, reopening it, clicking extras, then selecting your iOS 6.0 IPSW again. Just like you did before.

5. Now you can click Boot Tether up at the top.

6. Once your device comes back on, unlock it, swipe to find Cydia, open it, and wait for the file system to prepare.

7. When its done you can open Cydia, tap changes, then refresh (only if you dont see any packages) and search for P0sixsPWN. Install it. This is the application that turns it from a tethered break to an untethered break.

You now have an untethered Jailbreak on 6.1.6. Enjoy, and have fun with the tweaking!

Fun things I've done with it so far. Runs perfectly on 6.1.6, if there's any doubts let me know and I'll upload screenshots of version proof as well.

Make sure to read everything the Redsn0w software says carefully, such as when you click Jailbreak and it starts telling you to set it into DFU mode.

It seems like the iOS threads don't get very much love these days. Probably my 2nd-3rd thread in this section that didn't get any responses.

But eh, response or not, hopefully some users who are having problems can make use of this. It can get pretty confusing for some.
