Easy, any one can do it.
This is for people with Cable Modem/Router combos.
Required hardware: A router with a change able Wan Mac Address, i used a TP Link TL-ER6120.
1. Call up your ISP, ask them to put your modem-router into "Bridge Mode," this will turn your modem-router into a plain old MODEM!
2. Plug port 1,0, or 4, depending on your modem-router into the WAN port of your personal router.
3. Hook up your network to that router - the modem-router will still have an IP address as if it were a router, so you will need to change the ip addresses of one of the routers so you don't have an IP Conflict. IE, change the ip address of the personal router to 192.168.0.2, and set the default gateway to it.
4. You should have a new IP address by this point, because your MAC address has changed to whatever your router's WAN MAC is set to.
5. When ever you want to change your IP Address, simply change the mac address of your WAN Port, and restart your modem-router.
Now, depending on how your ISP is setup, you will find yourself with a Static IP Address, which you can change when ever you want, AND you may find your self to be on the Business network, resulting in Higher Priority and Less Latency.
Enjoy!
