Anime fans keep bashing me for not liking subbed

Ok so I'm not an "otaku" Yeah I like anime I've watched 20-30 animes I can talk to them with friends but the second they hear I only watched dubbed they treat me as if im not worthy of anime this is getting annoying why do you guys care? I dislike reading as I watch tv I occasionally need to check my phone and hate pausing/rewinding I like knowing what I'm watching while I'm looking away why are otakus like this?
Keep it lowkey.
Do what you want to do, elitist scum isn't something to be bothered by.
Dubs just aren't as good as subs in most cases.
Personally, I have no problem if a person watches dubbed anime.
A lot of dubs such as Cowboy Bebop, Space Dandy, Ghost Stories, Trigun and FMAB are exceptional.

"treat me as if im not worthy of anime" that's pretty funny, don't be upset.

Pretty much. The fact that they at all judge you by such a reasonable preference is just silly. Laugh righteously at how foolish they look and live on d:

OP just ignore them? Who cares if they laugh at you just because you like dubbed anime. I personally hate dubbed anime but I won't go around making fun of people that like it..

That's exactly what I think, there's nothing wrong in watching dubbed anime..
The Japanses is also dubbed. Some dubs are good, some are worse. I prefer dubbed, even the bad once.
yeet yeet dab skrr

Good quality subs will also try to take as little "liberty" with the translation as possible which gives you an experience closer to what the creators intended, which I feel is very important.

Japanese versions are easily more passionate but I would never, ever watch an anime in Japanese for the FIRST time unless it was the only way to watch it. I don't like to read while I watch, simple as that. It's just distracting.

Absolutely agreed. Wouldn't want to ruin a good anime on the first watch by distracting myself with subs.

I don't understand this - subs aren't difficult to read while still immersing yourself in the episode. Okay it requires a little more concentration but its definitely not tough if English is your first language.

Also Ags was saying dubs are bad, cause you're only getting 90% of the intended story, just like when you play with your phone during a film.
As I said I watch it casually I don't get super into it (Besides fairytail no idea why but that anime just I love it)

Thats totally fair if you just want to relax and are a casual viewer; but at the same time I don't blame your friends if they call you out for not watching subs (other than the fat they're convincing you wrong), you miss so much in dubs, the emotion, the literal meanings and so on.

This.

Personally, I don't watch many shows that in their English dub. I prefer the Japanese dub more because they seem more realistic, fit the characters more, and display so much more emotion than the English dub.

Some English dubs (such as Spice and Wolf) do a decent job; however, the Japanese dub for that show is miles above the English dub imo.

This!

But don't you also hate in most English dubs when they try to call out a characters name they sound so fucking stupid?
My friend once said to me "different strokes for different folks."

I personally watched subbed, but english dubbed sounds perfectly fine to me
