Hey there,

so, I have issue with a driver to my graphic card on my Debian/wheezy. I have AMD Radeon R7 M265, so I tried driver from AMD - AMD Catalyst™ 14.4 for Linux, but I can't install it, because there are packages just for etch, experimantal, sid etc.. but not for wheezy. I tried stable version, but it didn't work too. I'd like to know, if there is any other way, how to solve it. Maybe someone of you had similar problem with drivers for Radeon R7 M series. I apperiace any hint or help, because I really don't want to change a distro.

I think you are trying to use a version that is simply too new.

Works only with Xorg 1.15.2? I read, system requirements for AMD Catalyst 14.4 are -

• Xorg/Xserver 7.4 and above (up to 1.15)
  


• Linux kernel 2.6 or above (up to 3.13)
  


• glibc version 2.2 or 2.3
  

+ I have Radeon R7 M series, all from wiki are old.

But I had almost same error. I think, I'm doing something wrong, or I don't know where is problem. 🤨

You just repeated me: "(up to 1.15)" (in reality 1.15.2)

This is weird, I'm running 14.10 on xorg 1.15.2 with kernel 3.15, might be something specific to your device or debian.

Ah, yes, you are right, my fault... And good point, because now I check Xorg and I have version 1.12.4. So I'll upgrade it to version 1.15 and kernel let 3.14 (If patch will not work, upgrade to 3.15).

Btw, you have same graphic card like me?

Nah I have a Radeon HD 6738.

All the cards above 4xxx use the same driver.

Ok, so thank you for all this hints. It means, I'll upgrade all what is needed and try it again, then let you know if everything works (I hope so).
