Hey HF,
All of you will probably know the HF News by Sir and his group of writers. Recently, I saw the HF News Group recruitment post and it gave me an idea. Since there are few requirements to become a writer for Sir's HF news (Ub3r, Perfect English etc.), I thought maybe we could start a community news, where anyone can submit their work. No requirements or experience. I think this would be good for people that are interested in news and have a general interest in writing. But like I said, anyone could submit a story that they have written. So I ask you guys, would you like something like this? Leave your ideas/feedback below.

I think someone should rival Sir's news group, create some competition as that is what pushes people and projects to be better.

I agree with you, but my main reason for this idea is that anyone could submit a story and have a chance to have their stories read by other members of HF.

This is not a good idea. We don't need another group to create the news.

We're not necessarily saying that it would be a group, just someone/somewhere users can submit stories etc. and then just compile the best ones into a post, nothing more, nothing less.

There is enough news to go around. I don't think this would have things like bans and such either. This could just be posted in the news section from a few people.

Thanks for your opinion! I can understand where you are coming from with the whole 'this could just be posted in the news section' but you can probably say that about most of Sir's HF News (Apart from stuff like bans and RFs.). My idea of the actual community news is instead of having to look at 20 different threads, you could just look at one thread to get some info on all sorts of information.

I like the idea of it. I was meaning as this would be hosted here and just be a nice little compilation of news.

If you are serious about it, then you should make a thread in the groups discussions for a news group. I would make a little skype group, so you can communicate easier too.
