Here is my list of great, insightful and very intelligently made cinematic movies. Whether it be the camera work or simply the writing and implications, these movies are quite simply amazing. *No particular order. No, I will not rate these movies out of 10.*
Hanna (2011) - Great implications in this movie and outstanding camera work.
The movie had some awesome staging... one-shots where one scene went on without any edits with only one camera, and some awesome spin around's on characters with the proper lens, unlike certain movies like Transformers which shoots in the wrong lens.
This movie is one of my favorites not because of the story, but because the main character is an actress (girl) who performed amazingly at 16 years old. The movie was very poetic in a way. Hanna is a fantasy "adventurous" crime thriller with the perfect soundtrack, and skilled cinematic detailing, e.g. the proper lens were used to shoot the movie for particular scenes.

American Beauty (1999) - This movie is another favorite because of the implications set throughout.

Kevin Spacey seriously is one of my favorite in theater performance and acting. Mysterious and extremely charming that I almost think he's a sociopath.
The movie also introduces questions of our bureaucratic world, awkward scenes of homosexuality and almost implicitly questions how insanity spites within abusive families, and is satirical about our society's standards, like a young girl's low self-esteem and her getting a breast implant. The movie is rebellious, insane, funny, dramatic, cringe worthy and a theatrical and cinematic TREASURE.
This movie incorporates extreme symbolism with the color scheme in the sets used... the color red, and the flowers shown throughout the movie really sets you up for an extremely confusing ride, to show you the difference between reality and what is fake, for a man who is going through a midlife crisis. Consumerism and materialism is also brought to light in the film. This movie is the whole package, with twists and turns, you'll stay up just to finish it.

The Truman Show (1998) - Jim Carrey is one of my favorite actor and comedian. At first, you'd imagine the role to be too out of place for his wittiness, but that wittiness is what made the movie so crazy that he simply was the only actor that is fit to play the character in the movie.
The Truman Show brings to light the standards our society places on us. The movie incorporates the lifestyle of Hollywood's "realism" and what consumerism does to our world. The media and communications is one of The Truman Show's key pieces of intelligent satirical implications.
And not to mention the camera work.
