Here is a program that's almost at 100% completion it's not perfect but I can't be bothered to finish it.
It takes a picture and encodes it and stores it as a text file at it will also do the reverse. It's threaded and its primary function works fine. The only trouble is large encrypted texts take a long time to parse, maybe its something you can fix.
If you'd like the source then message me and I'll provide you with the link :) I realise something like this has been done many times before, but if it can benefit anyone then I'll provide the source.

Well obviously not you, this is for beginners who don't know how to thread, use functions or classes, and the like.
Even for such a simple program 4 lines of code is a bit of a short sighted remark don't you think?

😊 4 😁
IO.File.WriteAllBytes("NewImage.jpg", Convert.FromBase64String(Convert.ToBase64String(IO.File.ReadAllBytes("Image.jpg"))))

He has the openfiledialog, and encrypting too, so in total, it's around 4.

Nope, this can even be done with 2 lines of code. Like Only3 said.

If you don't want this program why post on the thread?
If you can make this yourself go ahead.

Actually, I can make it one line of code.

It's encoded in Base64 but I could change it so that it's encrypted in AES or the like :) But I don't see what it would accomplish, base64 is pretty unintelligible to try and read.

Not encryption then, Base64 is encoding. There is a HUGE difference.

You can do a lot of things in 1 line. If it isn't feasible to read in 1 line, it shouldn't be made in 1 line.

If you read the quote that you quoted you would see that I used to term encoded and not encrypted. You must be quite bored to keep trashing this thread.

So if you read the file that the encoded image was contained in, you'd be able to tell what it was huh? For all intents and purposes that image is encrypted if the original information is indecipherable to anyone else.
Please.

I get your point but this is encoding. All anyone needs to reverse it is the algorithm, which is public. Encryption would be using a key and that would mean it is intended only for certain people. You're not transforming the data to hide it, you're simply converting it into another data type. That's the simplest way I can explain the difference.
